I, like several other parents, couldn't find any logic behind Alumni points and Inter State Transfer points. Just copying a system only because it's prevailing somewhere else without understanding why of it is of no use. Moreover, when our constitution was framed it was not copied as such instead each clause was well thought of and modified according to Indian culture.

Hi Sakshi,

would like to know out of VIS , SVIS & Indraprastha international which one is better?

@Seema , Totally agree. This mess was created by the HC when single bench judge ordered fresh redraws and subsequent appeal to the bench overturned that ruling.

It seems even the judiciary can not make up their minds. what are we lesser morals to do in this case?

This is also true that the fight is only for Top 5 schools in each region. Other schools still have enough seats to accommodate every child.

The real losers in this game are the common people / parents who just want to get on with the admissions and sessions. They are content with any ruling either this way or that.

Schools are benefiting from this chaotic situation. They are putting a price for every seat. Admissions are being done via the back door.

 @Raman Singh

Totally agree with you, but why should the 70 pointers, who have been admitted, suffer again-  would that be a level playing field for them?  we cannot grieveously wrong one group( selected 70 pointers) just to make amends for another(IST). also people are not denying the need for IST but questioning whether IST is required in nursery admission.

Guys, Let us be adults about this and not make any personal attacks.

No one stood up against EWS as their quota was fixed 25%. Reducing fakes or eliminating certain candidates from this list would not have benefited the general category. Do not forget EWS also includes DG (disadvantaged group) which includes SC/ST/Non-Creamy OBC irrespective of their income / status. This is why this category had distance slabs 0-1, 1-3, 3-6 KM and so forth. We all know reservation is still widely prevalent in our country.

Now regarding IST. No one asked for extra points for IST and I think by now most agree that these points are not justified. No one protested these points when they were announced, everyone welcomed the move by LG. Agree, no one had envisioned that so many people would misuse the system. Same goes for the LG.

Fake transfer cases spoilt the normal admissions process. But please give a thought for genuine cases. They did not demand extra points / special treatment. But, they would have been stupid not to use it if it was being offered by the guidelines.

Honestly speaking, how is a girl child more disadvantaged that a boy child in Delhi. Still many people are demanding points for girls / first born etc. And believe me, if those points were offered by the guidelines everyone eligible would have applied as per the guidelines claiming extra points. Same goes for IST. Genuine people were given extra points(without demanding) and they claimed those while filling the forms.

Considering the scenario, IST people may have applied in limited schools as they had high chances of getting through in the schools. Now, the points were cancelled after form submission was over. So, IST may have filled 5 forms while others have filled 20. This already puts them at a disadvantage now. Then they were kept out of first / second draws.

Where is the level playing field? Ideally, if they were to be treated at 70, they should have been given a second chance to apply in more schools after the scrapping of IST points.

This is why they demanded complete redraws, at least to give them equal chances with other 70 pointers in the schools that they did apply for. With HC order, now even those were scrapped.

This tit for tat has gone long enough and neither group seems to be backing out.

If we take eye for an eye, whole world would be blind soon.
