New Delhi: There seems to be no end to stalemate over the nursery admission process despite the Delhi High Court's nod. On Friday, the Supreme Court again put nursery admissions on hold in schools in the national capital.
On April 03, the Delhi HC had allowed schools to begin admitting toddlers who have been selected in draw of lots.
The Supreme Court further issued a notice to the Delhi government.
Nidesh Gupta, the lawyer for the parents, said: "The admissions already done will be subject to the Supreme Court's decision.”
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice BD Ahmed and Justice Sidharth Mridul had on April 03, however, clarified that the admission process will not include the inter-state transfer category students as their case would be further heard on April 16.
At present, 95-point system is followed for admissions -- 70 points are allocated to neighbourhood criteria, 20 to sibling and five under alumni category.
