Thanks Raman Singh for giving the clear picture...its very true....we should be optimistic now...70 will get admission.

But all the confusion and chaos were created by some obsessed parents who felt that their kids will not be selected in top-10 schools...(Mostly Alumni as they had to compete with IST) .....Thats a great injustice done to all of us....wastage of time, mental trauma since last for months...sleepless nights...Maybe a seat in a good school(not top ten) will be the only mean of this damage control...Good luck to all of us..

Many of us studied in Govt schools with no AC and at times no fans due to power cuts (remember those in the pre-privatization years of DESU) and still turned out quite well in our own areas.

Today we can afford AC schools for our kids and look for extra curricular activities more than academic performance in schools.

I cant image a child so used to centralized AC schools venturing out into the playground to do any activity. They are happy playing video games and browsing internet in the comfort of their home.

It's crystal clear now that the whole war was for top-10 schools...

Over 300,000 applications for almost 60,000 seats. Even if you consider 5 applications / child then there should be sufficient seats for every child.

We all know everyone has filled more than 5 forms, so the ratio tilts further. There are more seats available than there are applicants.

This is broadly speaking, so be hopeful and wait for few days. I am sure lots many will receive calls from schools to take admissions. I agree, top 10 schools may not be available but dont underestimate the rest.

I concur with Maharm Ji, Vohra Ji and others. If you look at data submitted by schools (even if you ignore the margin of error) . There are sufficient nursery seats in Delhi. So all kids will get into one or the other school.

with the confusion and chaos created due to so many PILs and changing guidelines, there is plenty of confusion. May be some kids will not get admission in the top 10 schools,  but that is always the case. these schools have limited seats.

We should not totally ignore / disregard other schools. Not all toppers are from these top schools. More importantly it is the home culture and values given by parents.

In senior classes, it is the hard work of child and aprents for which these schools take credit.

so, be patient and hopeful. Not everyone can get into the top10 schools. Stop obsessing with these. give your children the best you can and see them flourish into sensible human beings.

God Bless all kids. Everyone has been through a lot this year.
