Hi sakshi ji and latha ji

since the court order is out, how soon can we expect the schools to start the admission process?

Do you think, we will see more stay orders/court order in near future?

Bindesh

Yes,your interpretation is correct but Now LG wont have any say unless challenged .

From what I've understand reading the court order:

1. Schools are expected to follow ganguly report as framework for admissions

2. In Ganguly report : there are points for neighborhood, school specific criteria, alumni, single child/sibling... however the quantum of points for Neighborhood is not as much as in the order of LG. Ganguly report proposes slabs for distance points

3. Schools would have freedom to allocate some points to "school specific criteria".

However what I'm not clear about is : whether DOE/LG would still release a umbrella guidelines providing provision for school specific points; or each school would release their own guideline.

As per Court Order, it seems that schools have to follow Ganguly Report. Ganguly report has given basic framework on which schools can formulate their admission system. As per Ganguly report, each school can allocate points to each criteria as per their system. They have given dates for release of forms but it is not clear whether it will be followed or not. Request moderator to summarize Ganguly Report.

Sad day... but matter must be taken to Supreme court

today's judgement can be viewed on http://lobis.nic.in/dhc/MMH/judgement/27-11-2014/MMH28112014CW17720...

In case anyone has read through it. Then it would be nice if they can summarize it for others. I believe most of us want to know:

1. What this decision means with respect to admission process

2. Whether the schools can commence admissions on their own; or there would still be guidelines from DOE

In my personal opinion, as long as the guidelines are still centrally released, that would ensure some method to madness. Otherwise if every school has to independently release their own guidelines, then that would create unprecedented chaos.
