Hello Sandeep

@Jyoti Chopra.Printing name is not a big issue as i too had certificate without name. Previous year they didnt asked the name printed may be this year. I send my wife to the MCD office & they provided with the name after filling a small form winthin a day, but if you want more copies they may ask you for more time but they will provide you with a single copy on the same day & at nominal fess.

Despite pressure, nursery norms may remain similar to last year’s

THE DIRECTORATE IS LOOKING AT SOME CHANGES BUT THESE WILL MOSTLY BE COSMETIC IN NATURE. THE INTERSTATE TRANSFER POINTS, HOWEVER, WILL NOT BE PART OF THE GUIDELINES THIS YEAR.
AN OFFICIAL

NEW DELHI: Despite demands for bringing back the management quota and making changes in the distance criteria, parents could see nursery admission guidelines that are more or less similar to those released last year.

AJAY AGGARWAL/HT FILE The nursery admission process that began in January 2014 was a long and arduous one, stretching till the last week of May.

A private schools’ body had written to the Lieutenant Governor last week, highlighting how in the absence of the management quota it becomes embarrassing for them when they have to refuse admission to children of high-ranking officers and politicians.

The argument does not seem to have moved the L-G or the directorate and it is unlikely that the quota will be brought back.

“The directorate is looking at some changes but these will mostly be cosmetic in nature. The distance category will remain most important this year too but there is a change that the points accorded to it are staggered this time around so that a child who lives closest to the school gets the maximum points. The interstate transfer points, however, will not be part of the guidelines this year,” said an official who did not wish to be named.

T he interstate transfer points — 5 points to children of those parents who have been transferred to the city — were at the centre of controversy last year.

The other major change that the directorate was mulling was raising the minimum age for admission to nursery from three to four years.

The proposal was supported by a number of schools who feel that three years is too young for kids to start school.

According to teachers and principals at prominent schools, some children who start nursery at the age of three are not even toilet trained.

Discussion on the issue is still on but it is likely that the age limit will remain the same as last year.

The nursery admission process that started in January 2014, was a long and arduous one, stretching on to the last week of May because of massive changes in guidelines and subsequent litigation.

Jyoti

Sandeep is right ..some schools asked for it from last 3-4years but many did not.So no harm in getting it done to be on safer side.
