‘Constitute panel to monitor nursery admissions in capital’

13 April 2014, New Delhi,

Harsh Vardhan writes to Najeeb Jung to form high level committee

Concerned over the issue of nursery admissions in Delhi, state BJP president Harsh Vardhan has asked Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung to constitute a high level monitoring committee to supervise admission process for tiny tots in the city.

In a letter written to L-G, Vardhan also demanded that the report of the committee should also be made public to ensure transparency in the system.
‘The parents are facing problems due to disputes regarding admission process this year. As there is no elected government in the city, the L-G must take the responsibility to provide relief to parents,’ said Harsh Vardhan.
‘The committee should monitor the admission process on day-to-day basis and submit its report to the L-G which should be made public through media to ensure proper implementation of Right to Education Act,’ he added.
Vardhan also expressed his serious concern on poor status of the implementation of Right to Education Act in Delhi.
‘It is regrettable and a matter of grave concern that the Right to Education Act has not been implemented in the national capital city due to which lakhs of children are being deprived of nursery and primary education,’ alleged Vardhan, demanding immediate interference of the L-G into the matter. As per the Master Plan of Delhi, there must be a primary school for the population of 5,000 and there should be a middle school for the population of 10,000. The nursery schools must comply with the requirement of the distance of 300 metres and the primary schools the requirement of 600 metres. Presently there are total 4,442 government schools in Delhi and around 20,000 posts of teachers are vacant, most of the employed teaches are contractual. It is necessary here to mention that there is lack of basic amenities in private and government schools. According to a latest survey 66 per cent of the nursery and primary schools in Delhi do not have proper facility of toilet and one is afraid of entering into it. There is also danger of children being infected. Even primary health facility is not available in the schools.

Cant we file a Mental harassment case against the honourable courts itself for accepting all these bin sir paar ki PILs and making our life hell and this whole drama is taking a toll on my health and work efficiency and my mind is disturbed, and I think lot of parents must be going through this condition like I am going through.
As parents we encounter all the time that our children keep on asking for various things good or bad, and we always know where to say a NO, the same is with courts they should know where to say a NO in the best interest of the majority and not to accept each and every PiL/appeal without thinking of the consiquences happening to majority public, without thinking of the mental and health harassment this all gives to the majority parents.
