I would like to thank all the parents for their efforts and initiative for raising the issue of interstate transfer points as I also share the same pain and have been experiencing the same problem for the past few days.

I would also like to draw attention of all the concern parents to a larger issue. When I first saw the guidelines, I was very optimistic and happy and thought that the guidelines are quite fair and give equal opportunity to all parents as well as number of schools are increased due to 8 km. But as time passes, my dreams got shattered as out of 28 schools in which I had applied, my daughter was there in a single school. After some research of the result pattern, I realized that there is a huge flaw in the point system. I agree that sibling and alumni should get preference but there should be some percentage or quota imposed on these.  Analysis indicates that most of the schools seats went to the favour of applicants who have more than 70 points and even there was no draw for 70 points.

I would request DOE and concerned authorities to look into this issue and formulate a point system that gives equal opportunity to all the applicants by introducing proportional mechanism. It means if a school has 100 seats then 90 points should have 30 percent of the total seats(30 seats) , 75 points should have 25 percent of the total seats (25 seats) and rest of the seats should go to the applicants having 70 points, who are in minority in point system and represent a larger section of applicants. This kind of system would give equal opportunity to all the parents.

I request all the concern parents please do support and raise this issue.
