1Examine the hardware included with your curtain rod. Many curtain rod manufacturers provide a center mount that provides... If this hardware isn t included, measure the diameter of your curtain rod. Purchase a c-ring or curtain rod support from your local home goods store or curtain rod manufacturersthat fits the diameter of the curtain rod.

2Remove the curtain rod from the window. Measure the distance from one end of the window to the other and find the center point. Drive the nails or screws, included with the c-ring hardware, with a screwdriver into the wall. Usually, the c-ring bracket has one screw if the curtain rod is small, less than one inch in diameter, and two screws for larger rods. For plastic curtain rods, the c-ring bracket may screw directly into the wall. These brackets can only support lightweight curtain fabrics.

3Slide the center c-ring bracket over the installed screws and adjust the bracket until it locks in place. Face the "C" shape of the hardware up toward the ceiling like a u-shaped cup. Reinstall the curtain rod and curtains and place the center section of the rod into the c-shaped hardware.
