Irony of the distance criteria

Few schools have found a workaround to go past the point system and make a mockery of the distance criteria
These schools have allocated either uniform points for distance or have a range of almost 15 kms or more wherein points for distance should be considered on staggered basis
Consider this, for DPS Vasant Kunj even if you are living opposite to the school but you do not have any alumni or sibling points then you may not get through as the points for distance are same for someone who is within 1 km or within 15 kms
If one does an analysis of allocated points you will see a majority of the applications are those which are in the range 40 to 45 points but these may never get through. School has almost 100 seats, excluding quotas, and you will notice that almost all of them can be filled with the ones with sibling or alumni points 
Schools which has such anomalies should not call for admission applications from next time to waste energy and efforts of all. They can simply go around in their school and ask for seat nominations and contact their alumni for the remaining seats.
