70 points @ neighbourhood is 23.85%. Strangely IST shows the number as 0 and so not sure if this data is from before the IST was scrapped or after it was scrapped. Looking at the data it is after the IST was scrapped.

what is neighbor hood @ 70 points %? and what is IST %?

Comment by Devanjan Majumdar on March 26, 2014 at 6:30pm

Sorry, that brings the % of the total seats to:

neighbourhood: 23.85% of the total seats

sibling: 17.31% of the total seats

alumni: 4.63% of the total seats

and around 4927 seats are still vacant.

@Kusum - the situation is of too many PILs against each other now. it started with IST but has caught on to everyone. I think the court is doing the right thing by taking a data based approach to nullify each PIL and the one that cant be should be the winner technically.

@Devanjan - the total seats mentioned in sheet constitute of 35% (ews, girl quota and staff). take them out of the total seat available and recalculate.

That's what my point is suneet. After scrapping of IST points, schools have left with vacant seats for which redraw has to be done, but because of set of parents those who are filing PIL'S , we are nowhere.

Doing a small analysis on the data shows that 50.97% of the total seats filled and 15.5% of the total available seats have been filled by 70 pointers.

The next is siblings who have taken 36.99% of the total seats filled and 11.25% of the total available seats

The last is alumni who have taken 9.89% of the total seats filled and 3.01% of the total available seats.

The remainder seats which were filled which is 2.16% of the total seats filled have been taken by 80 to 100 pointers.

So looks like other than the fraud transfer cases the remaining PILs dont support their claim with data.... this is of course basis the information given by the schools and it depends on the error rate with this data.

@Kusum - School not doing draw reasons:

1. No seats fro 70 pointers left

2. a lot of school who have not conducted any draw are declaring the data as "0" in the data submitted to DOE

Springdale's Pusa road all seats exhausted at 75 points (as per DOE data) and very likely they had a draw for all 75 pointers.

Bal Bharti - all over at 75 points.  all data is posted here in the link in the title of the thread.

3.
