i m totally agree with u...just for admitting the child in the best school the distance criteria been increased to 20 km is not good for the child growth.
@deepak Personally i do agree that a good school leads to good education but is that every good school passes out good n only good students n a bad one always bad. I think the major part of our studies we use to do at home our parents use to teach us and we use to do our self studies........school does make a difference but not all the difference ....it is parents who make all the difference and the self study.
Again as I mentioned, points distribution should be 'parents-oriented' instead Schools.
Preference order should be : Sibling, Distance,First child and finally Alumni.
all these favors parents. Think about situation when both child are studying.. This order will help to manage the time need for both the child.
The Nursery admission should be decided by draw of lots - then only all parents would be satisfied.

@Dr Poonam, but practically we don't see this around us. Parents are more interested in sending their wards in good school even if school is far.
if we just focus on admission irrespective of 'School Grade' then I believe mostly every child will get admission.
fight is every body wants admission in good school. In delhi ~150 Schools gets more application rest don't get chance to fill their seats.

There should be a common admission schedule
And if the State is not allowed to interfere with the admission guidelines (as is the HC verdict), it should be given enough powers to ensure that a fair and transparent process is put in place, and schools are not allowed to exploit their discretionary powers.
