Hi,

I have got my child admitted in Heritage today and a bit confused whether I should still participate in the draw of lots in Shikshantar. Am sharing my views on the same:

Had gone through the HT 2012 Survey. While both the Schools seem to be good from an all round development perspectice, the concern is both Shikshantar and Heritage are ranked pretty low on the academic rigour. On a comparison of both the schools:

Shikshantar seems to be more oriented towards a value based education and Heritage is more oriented towards arts and sports - Which one is better depends on individual perspective.

Shikshantar, I have heard starts the exams from 6th while Heritage Starts the same from 8th - Shikshantar seems to be better on this account having a more balanced approach.

Heritage definitely scores over Shikshantar in terms of infrastructure.

Heritage is a CBSE School - For me, it is a plus since have heard from quite some of the persons that scoring in CBSE in Xth and XIIth Class is better than ICSE. 

Would request other members to provide their views and help us to decide on the same.

Shikshantar - average infrastructure, Too expensive

Heritage - Great infrastructure, less expensive, In 2012 HT survey has moved up the ranking tremendously (jumped to 2nd rank)

Distance from home may also be one of criteria (may be an important one).

Thanks Sakshi... Nidhi is rejecting the philosophy that Shikshanter is following... since Heritage also follows the same philosophy, her comments are not helpful... my question is not shikshanter v rest of world... it is shikshanter v heritage...

Is it possible for you to provide inputs on HT survey.. 2009 survey did not have shikshanter at all in top 10 schools... 2010 survey had shikshanter at number 2/3. Why and how... Also, whether 2011 survey is out..

Gaurav,  Few parents along with our featured member Nidhi did not take admission in shikshanter

Last year also many parents had the same question about shikshanter. so Nidhi

specially wrote a blog regarding the same . pls find the link below for the same and you can ask her if you have any query as she changed 2 schools finally her kid is in lotus valley.

Hi Sakhshi...Thanks for your inputs...

I want to know the reasons for preference for Heritage (other than better infrastructure). I met somebody whose daughter goes to Shikshanter and son used to go to Heritage... He pulled his son out of Heritage since according to him, the infrastructure at Heritage has only ornamental value (they rarely use it)... But apart from infrastructure, what are other points of distinction which makes Heritage better than Shikshanter.. Thanks

@Gaurav, According to parents feedback Heritage has very positive feedback but Shikshanter has mixed feedback .Few parents after getting  admission in shikshanter opted for other schools.

i wud request parents to give their feedback of both d schools.
