CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION
  1. Sibling Criteria (25 points allocation) :
The school considers this to be a very important factor for admission as it becomes very problematic for parents to have children in different schools. Existing parents also have a bonding with the school which they chose for their first child because of its special features. Even then, it will not be possible to accommodate all.

  1. Alumni Criteria (25 points) :
The schools are three-generational and have a large 40 year-old Alumni Association with 4000 life members deeply attached to their Alma Mater and who have great aspirations for their children's education at Springdales. Points are allotted in accordance with the contribution they have made to the school and their bonding thereafter (20-25 points). It is regretted that all children of Alumni like siblings will not be able to find a place due to limitation of seats.

  1. Residence Criteria (20 points maximum) :
Proximity of residence to the school is beneficial to both the child and the local community. So residence has been included as a Criteria for admission. It covers the following aspects :-

    (a) Those who live in surrounding areas which are specified in the registration form (20 points)
    (b) Those who live in areas covered by the bus routes for Kindergarten children (20 points)
    (c) Those who live further away but can make their own satisfactory transport arrangements. (10 points)

  1. Minority Criteria (5 points) :
In keeping with its ethos and objectives, the schools embrace a diverse mix of children from different communities, religions, regions, and linguistic groups. Aspirants must provide authentic proofs that they qualify as minorities as defined by authorized bodies like the Minorities Commission.

  1. Girl Child Criteria (10 points) :
Gender Parity and equal opportunity for the Girl child is a part of Springdalian ethos. Being co-educational the schools try to ensure that the student population has an equal balance between the sexes.

  1. Single Parent Criteria (5 points) : :
For children with single parent (legal proof must be attached for undertaking of single status).

  1. 1st Born Child (Girl or Boy) not being a sibling or a child of an alumnus. (10 points) :
It was found in the last few years that very few 1st born children secured admission. Therefore they are being allotted 10 points.

  ACADEMICS

Every year we have attempted to scale greater heights and sought newer horizons. It is credit to our institution that an All India survey of the Most Respected Schools has ranked the school among the first three in the city and top ten in the country. The School has been ranked first according to several parameters.

We have partnered with the Central Board of Secondary Education and Our Teachers Resource Centre has become the hub for training teachers, school principals and Heads of B.Ed Colleges in areas ranging from value education, mentoring and monitoring, school accreditation, subject training, strategic leadership to evaluation systems.

We have under the aegis of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Central Board of Secondary Education conceived of designed and created the Value Education Kit. Our central role in the formation of the Kit is a reflection of the fact that Springdales has always nurtured values.

This year I had the wonderful opportunity to work on the CBSE Values Education Initiative along with Mrs. Shuchi Bajaj Co-Ordinator, Teachers Resource Centre. Mr. Nishit Jain contributed the art work and visuals for the Manual,Mrs. Soma Banerjee headmistress and her team played a pivotal role in the creation of the Activity Cards for the primary with contributions from teachers of several other schools. The Kit will be adopted be in 13,000 CBSE Schools across the country.

The values education kit was formally launched on 1st November by the Minister of Human Resource Development Dr. M.M. Pallamraju and Dr. Shashi Tharoor. Springdales was greatly commended for pioneering work in the area.

Our team of teachers has oriented teachers across the country to incorporate the kit in schools.Over 500 teachers from National Progressive Schools Conference schools were trained by us. Many of our teachers Dr. Mala Gupta, Dr. Pramada Lele, Mrs. Jaskiran Thakur, Mrs. Mridula Agarwal and Mrs. Shuchi Bajaj are on CBSE Core Committees framing questions and deciding curriculum as Subject experts.

We continue to move forward with a sense of conviction in holistic education whose effectiveness can be seen in the outstanding Academic performance of our students, who have done us proud with their cent percent board results.

It is a matter of great pride that our school was one out of the 8 across the country selected by the National Innovation Council led by Mr. Sam Pitroda, Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister for the prestigious Tod- Fod - Jod project. A preliminary guidance session was conducted at our school by Mr. Neeraj Gulati, a Volunteer with the National Innovation Council.

Students from classes 6 to 8 deconstruct repair and repurpose everyday gadgets. We were invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the occasion of the release of the peoples report in the presence of his Excellency Shri Pranab Mukherjee and the Shri Kapil Sibal, the Hon'ble Minister for Information Technology.

Harshin Bhambhani and Guneet Singh of our students were commended by the All India and International Asteroid search Campaign for having discovered the orbits of six asteroids.

Aadya Chawla and Paridhi Rustogi secured the second position in an experimental research project organized by Oracle Education Foundation and were awarded at a ceremony at San Francisco. They developed a project- Banana Peel: Everyman's Water Purifier conceptualized by Mrs. Anita Luthra for the A.K. Saha investigatory project 2011. Under the able guidance of Dr. Pramada Lele the successful experiment was carried forward and entered at the Think Quest Competition.

Springdalian learning is truly multi-dimensional and enriching. We have diverse learning experiences that go beyond the classroom- from interacting with the President of India and other luminaries to Interfacing with nature or even understanding diversity within the community. As we Participated in the Inter school Camp at the School Farm, the Book and Africa weeks, expressed our creativity through movie making and art;attended Seminars and Exhibitions;and travelled to near and distant lands, the world became our learning space.

Makkunda Sharma has qualified for a scholarship in the Junior Science Talent Search Examination conducted by the Goverment of Delhi.

Our enthusiastic Quizzers have done themselves proud winning laurels for the school at events hosted at Carmel Convent School, St. Coulmba's, Mater Dei and Springdales, Dhaula Kuan. They received recognition from the Limca Book of World Records.

The school team comprising of Bhawana Diwan, Dikha Dey, Daksh Dobhal , Makkunda Sharma, Ankit Nijhara was 1st at the A.K. Saha Young Scientists Experimental Project, bagging the First position in the Quiz and 2nd in the Investigatory Project.

  INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

The integration of the international dimensions in the curriculum encourages global perspectives and promotes responsible, just and sustainable citizenship.

Most global exchanges for schools that we have been involved with through the years -the German PASCH Programme, UKEIRI, United Nations Initiatives, Asia Literacy Programme of the Australian Government`- are focused on a value based response to contemporary issues- environment, social justice, leadership, and peace.

Our proposal 'Yamuna- The Vanishing River' was selected for an Environmental Project- Greening with Goethe. The project has been recognized by the UNESCO and is supported by the University of Bremen, Germany. Astha Chopraand Sameera Singh represented our team in Banglore.

While our Global links with Germany, Australia and the African Missions have grown from strength to strength, we have also partnered with the United Nations, Coalition for Nuclear Disarmament and Peace and the Japanese Embassy for a meaningful understanding of world issues like Human Rights and Disarmament.

We were privileged to interact with His EXCELLENCY Reverend HARRIS S. MAJEKE, High Commissioner, South African High Commission; Mr. Kiyo Akasaka, UN Under Secretary General; Mrs. KiranMehra-Kerperlman, Director, United Nations Information Centre and Mr. Yugo Horikawa from the Embassy of Japan at several school events.

A delegation of Principals and Educators from Australia visited our School under an ongoing Asia education program of the Australian High Commission. Some of our students were delighted to be part of the recently concluded Oz festival in the city.

Tremendous learning came from the many international exchanges the school was part of this year, exploring the natural and man- made wonders of Australia, Dubai and Germany. We also had the pleasure of hosting our German counterparts, and familiarizing them with our culture.

Our students Jahanvi Gupta and Ishita Rao were selected for Scholarships to Germany by the Max Muller Bhavan.

Ayushi Malik participated in the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for students (JENESYS) sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Centre(JICE) in Tokyo.

To our delight Niharika Nanda won the World Culturological Contest in Russian and received a scholarship to Moscow, where she represented India.
