Tap (or tapped) density of powders is a staple measurement of almost all industries handling and processing powders (e.g. food, pharmaceutical, catalyst, powder metals, pigments, bulk powder handlers etc). The ultimate packed density of powders depends on the total number of taps and the most rigorous applications, such as those found in the pharmaceutical industry, require that the same number of taps be used for each and every analysis. With the lock-out feature, the appropriate number of taps determined during development and validation of a standard operating procedure (SOP), can be programmed by an authorized manager and fixed to prevent unauthorized changes. Autotap Tap Density Analyzers

Quantachrome s Autotap analyzer is avilable in two versions, one-sample and two-sample, both featuring a 3mm (1/8in) drop height which conforms to USP and BP methods II, and ASTM tests. The Autotap is available in 110 and 220V versions, and is supplied with graduated cylinders. Unique adapter cylinder platforms can accommodate a variety of cylinder sizes, from 10mL to over 500mL.
