How is the Montessori way of teaching different from regular kindergarten schools?.

·         Montessori schools are  different  because  unlike traditional schools  rote method is not practiced and a  child learns with hands on manipulative material .

·         The vision in  the Montessori method is  not restricted to getting excellent academic grades but  the focus is on acquiring  life skills like concentration, good work habit , imagination , creativity  and self sufficiency skills .

·         The child simulates life experiences and  academic concepts in  a prepared  learning environment (the class) and the teacher directs learning rather than conducting it

·         There is a sequence to the chain of thought for any given subject.It provides specific sensorial stimulation  for learning . It caters to multiple intelligences amongst children as it is multi sensorial in approach

·         Montessori method allows for differentiated instruction as per the learning needs of  each child ie within a class learning  can be customized according to the need of the  child according to his level of understanding.

·         More importantly, each bit of the curriculum is revisited with added challenge after every few years.

·         The philosophy believes in Realia-there is no ‘make believe’ but rather the use of child friendly real material  that can get as close to nature in class

·         The method allows for flexible groupings of children and engages children in integrated curricular  tasks.

·         There is in built continuous observational assessment  of the child and simultaneous opportunities for remedial action

·         In a nut shell learning is not piecemeal as in a regular kindergarten.

Its same as cbse but instead of just  telling kids to  write and calculate they have got very practical approach . no  mugging
