Hi Pooja.. My office is in Film city.. and I live in east Delhi.. Planning to shift to Noida next year, most likely on expressway.
Planning to commute my daughter myself for at least 1 year. From that perspective, both looks same, as I need to leave office by 12PM for Apeejay and 12:30PM for Cambridge.. But Cambridge is around 3km from my office but Apeejay is 500mt.
Visited both Cambridge Junior wing and Apeejay Junior wing after dispersal time.. so looking at the infra, cleanliness of toilets(for pre-primary), Apeejay looked better(would say far better in my opinion). Apeejay had 4 tennis courts for pre-primary and a big enough splash pools also. There was a well maintained play area with rubber kind of flooring.
Medical room in both looked good.
For comparing pedagogy and faculty, I find it very difficult and would go by various survey and ratings and very few feedback we got from parents of students. I could not conclude much about it.
Also talked to couple of 1st/2nd students' parents at Cambridge, and they said Apeejay has better name. They were happy with education of their wards in Cambridge. They also told that Cambridge used to have lower no of students per class and lower number of section per std. now they have increased no. of students per class to 40-45 in nursery and also increased sections(they told 10 for nursery). Many kids were playing in playground which is on the backside, but none in the one in front(not sure about reason, may be bcz of buses being arranged near that playground at that time). they also told that Cambridge does not ask parents for money for various activities/functions etc.
Also inquired about participation of students in various function(from school staff in Apeejay and parents in cambridge) .. in both schools, all students are made to participate in functions till 2nd std. After that, it becomes selective. Timing for Cambridge is 9 to 12:45PM for Apeejay is 9 to 12. Both have their own setup of handing over children to parents/buses which looked ok to us.
With this visit, We are inclined towards Apeejay out of two. Amity's result is awaited, but its date is after Apeejay fee submission date.
