My child's name came in GD Goenka sec 22 but its too far from my place. It takes almost 1 hr to reach school. That's y I didn't chose that

Hi Jasrin,

After all the issues pointed out by you, It seems your child is really having a tough time. Although we do say that initial few days are like this but in your case you pointed out the reluctance towards school driver & the behavior of the teacher even towards you, which is not an ideal case. I always believe every child should have this anxiety... this urge... the curiosity ...to go school. It can be because of any reason (toys, teachers, friends or any other thing). Your child lacks the reason.

I have few questions to ask though:

1. Did you manage to talk to any other parents whose child study in same class ? Ask them about the teacher, ask them if they have faced same experiences. If yes, this might be a valid point to be taken to principal. In either case you can also ask principal to change the section.

2. Is there any teacher who accompanies your child in the van/cab ? If no then try to find a teacher who lives nearby and talk to them regarding your concern. They might be able to give a better picture of the school itself.

3. Always ask your child regularly some basic questions like

  a. How was your day : Try to listen to him. Many a times they just want to get heard. 

  b. What did you and your Friends do : This will let you know if they have made any friends till yet.

  c. What your friend's name :  Keep on iterating it within simple sentences like "We will call <Friend_name> him to our house for Birthday Party" or "Who is a fast runner among you and <Friend Name>". This will actually give a reason to your  among your little one.

 d. Do the same with teacher's name.

 e. What toys/swings do you have at school: Ask him about the toys, the swings.... Let him fantasize these stuff for which he should crave for going to school.

It might seems to be very basic & small things but when it comes to our kids, things are this simple. And...if still anything doesn't goes well with above suggestion, I guess you would have the answer : Change the school.

How ur lil one doing. Which school?

I asks him everything which u said. Prob is my son doesn't eat properly. N in school he doesn't eat at all. Hansraj has no meals n whatever I give him he doesn't eat all

 Teachers dont take effort to make him eat. Every child is different and they should give attention to such children. His teacher now says she will try to make him eat. Earlier he used to feel nausea if we asked him to eat. Now my baby is not ready to go. I told him school has brought new swings as he loves swings. But he said swings dekh ke aa jayoongi but teacher ke paas nahin jaana. His class had 2 teachers n none of them made an effort. They say ur child is restless n dorsntd sit at one place. I know he is like this but it's teachers responsibility to make such children but without scolding them. His class teacher is nice to me but still my child is not interested to go. He wants to go to his playschool gd Goenka la petite.

Now I dont hv many options for nursery. And its already very late n I cant make him sit at home.

His Hansraj teacher asked me to send him for one week to make him settle in class. I said I ll send him for 1 day first n she said u need to pay fees for whole july if you send him for even 1 day. If I do so whole month fees will be waste.

I HV an having of asking him what he does in zcholly, what he ate, what Happened, etc..I asked him about his frds n he said I dont hv any frds in this school, I HV frds in small school. 

Now u tell Pankaj what should I do. Should I become hard with my child n send him to Hansraj or listen to him n send him to playschool for nursery.

Pankaj Hansraj Model has Private Vans and they do not take any responsibility forcthat..they dont send any teacher or assistant along the Vans...

Hi Jasrin,

Thanks for this information. Moksh is quite well and in BBPS.

I understand your concern of your child not eating properly, but if he resists food @home then it becomes really challenging for teachers to take care of them. Although I do agree that teachers should give attention to special cases, but imagine the situation when there are 5-6 such cases. We have to teach them to learn to eat by themselves. What you can do is,

  1. Start including some of his favorites, whatever he likes(Can be a ketchup, Maggi, or any other of his favorite item(Remember : No Chips, toffees or chocolates, It should be home made)

  2. Start teaching him the value of doing things by himself: This will make him independent. Let him help you in small chores like putting shoes/books/bag in right place after coming from home or getting a glass if he wants water. Then slowly divert this attitude towards food. Just help him in dividing his food in small chunks.

Few Tips: You have to be a great actor in getting such things done. Also I suggest you to read him a book "All by myself".

Also you said "His Hansraj teacher asked me to send him for one week to make him settle in class".So currently I assume he is going to school(Correct me If am wrong). If yes, then utilize these fifteen days and ask principal to change the section. This wont be an easy task but you got to stand for him.

Also I was looking forward for your answers to my above question #2 & #3

In any case you can change his school as suggested by Sakshi

Did you manage to talk to any parents ?

No I couldn't talk to any parents. I took my child to the school yday but he is not ready to go to that school. Even his teacher asked him he said no. She also advised us to withdraw him as he is not willing to come. Finally I m withdrawing him as I dont want him to suffer in any case. I know formal school is better than nursery from playschool. But now I dont hv any option left. At least he eats there and those teachers make an effort to make him feed. 

I know in conventional schools teachers do not make much effort to make children eat bcoz of strength of class but at least they should pay special attention to fussy kids

Pankaj I m going to get his Admission done in GD goeGoe la petite playschool...I dont know if my decision is correct. But it's better to see him happy and comfortable than daily sadness and crying for not going to school.

I want to get his admission done in BBPS, Heritage or K.R manglam but my bad luck...

What you say..

If you could help me by letting know about the kg Admission next year or any good school for nursery this year, then i wud b grateful.. thanks

I am afraid, almost all good schools have closed admissions as of now(Unless there is a backdoor, which I am unaware of).  But yes we will be there to guide you for Kg session.
