It's been a decade Mr.Sumit Vohra is fighting against alumni points. Given alumni points is totally unfair and discriminatory. DOE should review it's admission policy and understand its consequences on long run. Admission system will be monopolized and it would affect the ethnic diversity of people.

To all those people who have not found luck in the first list and are cribbing about Alumni and Sibling points, I want to show a mirror of reality. Everyone needs to realise that we live in an extremely overpopulated state of a third world country. The main reason that not everyone could secure a seat in first list is the sheer number of applicants. But many students have got their names in multiple schools and many waiting lists will clear by the 2nd list. I can tell from my personal (and equally horrific) experience of nursery admissions 2 years back, that almost everyone will get calls from 2-3 nearby schools by March. So there is no need to panic right now.
But people also need to accept the fact that not everyone’s child can get admitted to the so called ‘elite schools’. The not-so elite schools are also not that bad either. The concept of ‘the school of my choice’ should be shunned if you are living in Delhi. Any school if in neighbourhood should be considered good (and there is actually not much difference among the schools). Raising the voice against the alumni points is understandable, but anyone who opposes the sibling points should remember that if there are no sibling points, they will regret during the admission of their second child. It’s not humanly possible for any parent to go through the same grind and mental torture for both kids.
Also I request the moderators of this forum to please try and stop answering questions asking for comparison among the schools. It leads to fostering of unrealistic expectations among the parents.

Also I would further like to add that the case against the point system has already been fought till the high court in 2014 and the honourable court had clearly upheld the validity of preference given to siblings.

2 Why Alumni given chunk of points, what it has got to do with admissions.
Some schools like modern give double alumni or more as they know background of family their income and profile.
3 Did you see no of points allocted to Alumni in many schools.
4 Should all of parents not get equal chance in all the schools.
5 Are schools not misusing their autonomy ( except few)
6 In 2014..Do you remember what was the main criteria ?

1 to 5 - I am also against alumni points, but not sibling points. Most of the media articles are mixing the two.

Alumni Vs Transfer pointers went to Hon'Sc.
24 Tranfer pointers got seat and not fence sitters.
