My elder one studies in DPS-N from last 3 yrs. Have not really faced any of the above issues which you above. Ragging/bullying/divide between hostelers and day students may be there is senior class, really not sure about that.
In last 3 yrs, they have not asked for any extra money, only they ask for some 200 rs or something for Heritage mela around Dec, but that is also optional if you want to go with your family.
Thanks for helping parents :)
@Shivani Malik
Please let me address these issues to the best of my knowledge which is from interactions with alumni, students and parents.
1 Yes, ragging incidents have been reported in recent past in the hostel. But if you are not choosing a hostel for your child, you need not be worried too much.
2 It is only natural that students who live together in hostel will form a closer bond
3 Openly preferential treatment is apparent at admission time. Once in school, it is not any more than anywhere else.
4 The consensus is that the previous principal was better.
5 Extra money was being asked some time back. The practice seems to have ended in recent years.
6 I too have heard about "attitude problem" among some students; it is partly because of all the bigwigs kids who easily get admission under the management quotas. But again, the school is very big with a student strength of more than 4000, so it will have all kinds of people
But, look at the academic performance: http://www.dpsnoida.co.in/cbse-result-----x-%26--xii-.html
The average aggregate Class XII score was 90.4% this year! That's just amazing.
If you look closely enough, every school will have some faults. No school is perfect.
Having said all that, IMHO I would go against the conventional wisdom and pick Sommerville over DPSN. My reason is that the Sommerville principal ma'am is a gem of a person and school overall comes across as more humane in all interactions.
Please suggest between Father Agnel Noida and Amity International School, Noida? We are looking for academics as well as extra curricular activities.
FASN>AmityN.
Thanks Sakshi.
Anytime :)
Birth certificate is returned only when you take the child off the school rolls, so it will not be returned if the child is studying in the school.
Any feedback for DPS Sectpr 122. Also, when they say that distance should be 10 kms, do they consider from Sector 30 or Sector 122.
