Hi 

I have admitted my daughter in Summerfields School, but having second thoughts now. 

I stay at Saket, and school bus from our house to the school will take almost 50 minutes - 1 hour one way as per the school.

I feel its too much travel time for 3 year old.

My sister in law is a Manager in Muthoot Group, and she is helping me in St George, but nothing till now....

In second list my daughter's name also not there in any schools.

I'm trying in other nearby schools by giving letters and calling them, but till now nothing.

So to try and focus my energies on only 2-3 schools for management seats, please advice :-

1.Which of  Amrita Vidyalayam / Gyanbharti School / St George School is better in ranking academically.

2.Has anybody got any experience in directly approaching these schools for management seats ? 

3.Has either of these schools called parents for interview ?

Please help me.

Don't loose hope.

even I tried in many schools - gave letters on gate and called them.I got my son admitted in one of them after few tries, and after that, got responses from 3 other schools.

If you keep on trying, you will be successful, but since second list is out, you might want to try in 6-7 schools instead of just three - which by the way  are very good schools..... But Pinnacle School / Red Roses School might be nearer to you, and have vacancies....

Rest seniors can advice ranking etc...

ranking of the 3 schools already and correctly provided by Sakshi.

But as Amit rightly said, pls spread your scope to a few more schools. Some options could be apeejay saket, new green fields saket and slightly further out , Apeejay panchsheel and laxman public hauz khas. All of these are pretty much in a similar league. LPS calling parents now, and has real good school ground / infra. Definitely better than summer fields and worth a try.
Good luck ; i am sure you will get another alternative  before the end of the exercise.

But Apeejay Saket - has refused as I won't take school bus. .

NGFS, Apeejay Panchsheel and Laxman -  form not filled.

So for now I have very limited options for management seats - which I'm trying.

Otherwise I'll continue in Summerfields this year and change in KG.

By the way when is it best to change - KG or 1st ? 

When more seats open up ?

Mr Vohra said in 2009, its better to change in 1st - as more seats available in 1st class... Please advise what is the scenario now ?

Hi Swati -

thats bad of apeejay saket, mandating school bus usage for admission. Totally illegal and i think thats the case in apeejay pp as well. these 2 schools actually gave you additional points for usage of school bus, in violation of DoE guidelines.

you can try Indian school as well (it would be almost same or slightly lesser as compared to summerfields in terms of distance) and general people feedback rates indian better than summerfields. One of my friends switched from summerfields to indian last week only (she tried the suggested method of follow up by mails / visit at indian school and finally got a call)

If you didn’t fill that one too, i guess you can stick with summerfields for now and try again in kg or class 1. Comparing between kg and 1 , i am not entirely sure which is better in terms of seat’s availability etc. I will defer that one perhaps to Sakshi and co.
