Akshat, Dont Go by Surveys ..Most are manipulated,if not all and more over method is not correct and sometimes schools don't respond so they are out.
Small example STEP BY STEP became No 1 after 2 yrs of its entry in noida (basically a pre school belonging to big corporate house in pancheel park)
How come DPSNoida and Amity Noida were placed below it.
DID SBS GAVE ANY RESULTS? NO ,OK ITS AHOLISTIC BASED SCHOOL.
can we compare apples and oranges ?
So how can u compare dpsrkp with shriram ?
We did not publish a single survey this year because parents start running after these so called top 20 schools and make fake proof of residence .
Only Dps RKP anD Vasant kunj do physical verification are both are on RADAR of many localities (via their distance criteria) and most sought after schools of south delhi .so max parents want admissions in these 2 as getting in vasant valley and shriram is next to impossible :(
Akshat why parents do it ?
@Maharam, once the checking mechanism is there, few will dare to furnish fake addresses. In that case only selective inspection will be sufficient. Also, we always have the left-out parents to take care of such people :-). We will have to start at some point to tackle this menace of corruption in admissions.
I have heard of a school which sends an inspection team to check the addresses after the admissions are over!! What I am trying to say is that when we have area as the only criteria, then all schools will become 'good' as even the 'good' students will be forced to go to local schools.
Also, some Noida schools are as good as or even better that the Delhi ones. Step by Step and Amity rank among the top 15 in whole of India in a recent survey
Trans Yamuna kids can apply to central Delhi schools that are closer to the area, like Modern School, Sardar Patel, DPS Mathura Road etc
@Maharam, hope you are aware that those unable to get maximum area points have no chance of getting through. If you are living in trans-Yamuna, there is no use applying in DPS RK Puram because there the local people will have advantage over you. What I am trying to convey is that whether it is the existing points system or the area-based system, you will have no chance of entering DPS RK Puram. You should also note that all areas have some good schools. Even trans-Yamuna kids are eligible for area points at some good central Delhi schools.
Sakshi, I have a counterpoint here: Why should a child lose out just because he has no sibling? Wouldn't it be great if we have only one criteria of 'area' and abolish all others. This way nobody can complain of discrimination.
