New Delhi: Saturday confused and worried nursery applicants even more as the admission sections on websites of several schools were down. They seemed to be "under-construction" or showed errors, leading parents to believe these schools have stopped admissions till the conflict over the latest government order is resolved.
"Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, has stopped admissions....I filled the online form. What Can you suggest what I should I do and when their procedure will begin again," asked a parent on admissionsnursery.com.
The pages of Gyan Devi Salwan Montessori School, Shri Ram School and Vasant Valley were also down-at least for a while-in the evening. However, Sushil Salwan explained that admissions haven't closed and sites were down for some other reason. "Submissions are offline and schools will accept forms. The managing committee will has been apprised of the government order matter of the order has been referred to the managing committee and they'll decide what to do. The errors online have nothing to do with this," he said.
"Parents came to us saying schools' online links aren't working. We tried calling up schools but that was of no helpno answer was given immediatelyWe have asked them to wait a few days," says Sumit Vohra.
Some schools that had points for criteria the government has objected to are changing them. The Action Committee for Unaided Recognized Private Schools had advised schools to do so and has itself not taken any steps yet. The last one to do it was Sachdeva Global School which dropped its management quota.
