Memorandum

From:AdmissionsNursery.com/V R ONE                       Date : 09/02/2011

To,

Shri  P.Krishnamurthy

Director

Directorate  of Education, Delhi

SUBJECT:  To raise the issue of parents plights in the present nursery admission process ( 2011- 2012) and to demand stringent action against erring schools.

The parents want  strict actions by the government against on complaints filed with DOE against schools for not following the government guidelines. Some of them include:

  • Salwan Montessori allocated points for achievements/profession of parents(which amounts to be screening of parents that is banned under RTE.)
  • Modern School  Humayun Road and Vasant Vihar branch both did not disclose any point system for  nursery admissions.
  • Vivek Summit/ Kidsway did not follow a transparent admission process
  • Bal Bharti (Rohini & Dwarka) had a non transparent draw of lots.
  • Laxman Public School and many others conducted draw of lots in the absence of parents (in case of LPS candidates for lottery were more than 1000)
  • K R Mangalam giving admissions to few parents with 70 points but others with 70 were not admitted (.Moreover on the parents on confronting the school authorities were told that it is a school management decision and they have to abide by it.)
  • Indian school  at Sadiq Nagar manipulated transfer points
  • Many schools including the above have not published the breakup of allocated points for the applications received.
  • Summerfields, K R Mangalam, Vivekanand and many other schools are giving admissions on first come first- come-first-serve basis·

 • Tagore International school has mentioned on its website that FEE ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED(Which is totally against DOE guidelines) and many other schools are doing the same, taking fee in cash and not giving the receipt. Doe should issue new circular for fee refund policy again immediately (Schools are giving excuses that there is no clarity/notification on fee refund policy this year)

Further the parents want to propose a Centralised Point System with centralized admission process with following salient features:

1. There should be one common form which should be filled by all parents who are seeking admissions for their kids, online/offline. The form should have all the required details and a few preferred schools.

2. It should be submitted to the DOE or the any concerned impartial authority.

3. Based on the details given by parents, the authorities should assign schools to each child (each child should be given a choice of 4-5 schools to choose from).

4. After this list is out, the parents should choose any one school and submit the same.

5. Once the list is final, the schools should be sent the list of the students who have been admitted in their school.

6  Scrap Alumni Points( Against RTE as alumni is educated till 12th so profiling against uneducated under RTE )

7 Transparency  etc

8 .Strict action against all (schools which flout guidelines)

            9. There should be a uniformity from sale of prospects to declaration of selected

                candidates.

           10. Upper Limit of fees should by schools to be fixed.

           11. Any guidelines should be analysed before implementation.

           12. No child should be left out without admission.

Sakshi,

You have forget to add the point for Vivekanand School, D-Block, Anand Vihar

http://www.admissionsnursery.com/forum/topics/st-vivekanand-school-...

we didnot have written proof so removed it in last moment after one east delhi parent said

she did not face any problem in vivekanand school

Its clearly mentioned on the notice board of Vivekanand that admission will be on the basis of first come first serve basis and you have to deposit non-refundable fees.

I would like to know and meet the East delhi parent who has given this statement as I myself has gone through the procedure, despite of scoring 60 points, my kid unable to take the admission due to the policy of first come first serve.

amity saket is also not mentioned which has not disclosed its point system
I think even point about APEEJAY Pitam Pura has not been mentioned. It lacked total transparency. No justification from school on how candidated have been shortlisted

Agreed. They even changed the no. of seats in the general category after the announcement of results. Similarly, VGS Rohini didn't publish the basis of the selection.

But let me congratulate you and all the parents who have tried to make a difference. The proposed centralised point system is an excellent idea.

Shall this centralised point system be adopted this year? Can I hope  my son will get addmission?

yes vikas, why they haven discussed appejay pp , in the memo.. could you please check with sumit ji or sakshi ji..

apeejay pp results were not transparent and no point system too !!!!

great work sakshi. you and sumit have been a great support for parents.

thanks

I am surprised that Sardar Patel is not figuring here. Because they also did not disclose any cutoff points. They also do not display their criteria of admission on website. Same with Amity, Saket.

Also, many schools did draw of lots without parents being present (e.g. Shri Ram School).

Mr vohra questioned about  Shriram and SPV also

shriram - 195 with 45 points informed by email , why no list was displayed ?

spv - he mentioned - embarrsing quetions/screrening/.interview/ why 234 shortlisted for 30 -40 seats

he asked oin front of 10 parents.Mr krishnamurthy noted the points

great job.
