UP Board results shocker: 165 schools achieve zero results due to anti- copying measures

In high school examination, Kaushambi, which has earned the dubious distinction for being a safe haven for copying mafia, as many as 13 such schools have achieved the feat of obtaining zero results.

Amid all the good news of UP Board students excelling in high school and intermediate examinations, there is also a shocking discovery.

A significant 165 schools have registered zero results — a ‘feat’ under which not a single student could clear the examinations.

Moreover, 388 schools have registered below 20% result.

“While it is no feat to boasts of, the results is an indicator of the kind of strict anti-copying measures put in place during the Board exams,” said Vinay Kumar Pandey, director, UP Board.

In high school examination, Kaushambi, which has earned the dubious distinction for being a safe haven for copying mafia, as many as 13 such schools have achieved the feat of obtaining zero results.

In intermediate examination, seven schools each from Aligarh and Mainpuri have earned a place in the dubious list.

As per records of the UP Board, in high school examinations, districts with maximum number of zero results include Prayagraj (7), Mirzapur (6), Etah (6), Ballia (5), Ghazipur (5), Hardoi (4), Azamgarh (3), Aligarh (3), Chitrakoot (3), Pratapgarh (3), Shrawasti (3) besides two such schools in Bahraich, Mau, Jaunpur, Sonebhadra, Shahjahanpur, Kannauj and Fatehpur and one each in Sidharth Nagar, Deoria, Varanasi, Chandauli, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Moradabad, Bareilly, Badaun, Rae Bareli, etc.

Similarly, in intermediate examination, other districts in the list are Pratapgarh (5), Ghazipur (5), Azamgarh (4), three institutions each in Prayagraj, Gonda and Ayodhya besides two each in Etah, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Jalaun, Amethi, Bahraich, Ballia and Jaunpur districts.

Of 388 schools with below 20% result, as many as 139 have figured in the high school examinations list and 249 in the intermediate list.

The schools with zero results include 50 government run schools, five government aided schools and 84 private schools in high school category and 15 government run, 58 government aided and 176 private schools in intermediate category.

HIGHLIGHTS

165 schools had zero results with none of its students clearing the exam.

96 high school and 69 Intermediate colleges in state registered zero results.

In High School exam, Kaushambi had maximum number of 13 such schools with zero results.

In Intermediate exam, Aligarh and Mainpuri districts had maximum of seven each schools.

In High School exam, 139 schools in state have results below 20 per cent.

In Intermediate exam, 249 institutions have results below 20 percent.
