Different Age Criteria for Nursery Admissions across various schools Gurgaon

Hi All,

We recently moved to Gurgaon and while applying for admissions were shocked to learn that schools had different age criterion for Nursery Admissions.

While some schools will accept 3+ age (as on March 2021) , other schools are inflexible and want wards to be 3.5+ (as on March 2021).

This has led to us having limited options of schools to apply to. This is NOT the case with Delhi where age criteria is same across all schools.

Why is there differential age criterion?

Why age 3.5+ is considered instead of 3+ in Delhi schools.

There is no regulatory body in Gurgaon like Delhi.

School decide there own age criteria, fee structure and selection process.

Some sought after schools Like DAV Sec 14 and Shiv Nadar have reduced age criteria from 3.5 yrs to 3 yrs from this year.

See list of schools taking 3 yrs on 31th Mar below.
