@ Shishir : I was reading your feedback on FAS and found it good and matching with most of the other parents whose kids are studying there.

Reading old post it looks like you are trying your kids admission in some other school  and thus I am curious to know what led you to take that step.

My reason to switch from FAS - Given a wish we always wanted our kid to study in DPS/Somerville as first option. Last year he was not eligible in these schools due to age criteria. Last year my son age was <3 year (Dec born) at time of interview and we got selected in FAS and Apeejay. Our preference was FAS last year as it is best school in Noida w.r.to Value for education.

I will really rate FAS high and have my own preference of giving Education/basic fundamentals, moral value and over all development as top priority. Below is my small research
Focus on Education/Over All Development/Moral Value: I did comperative analysis of class 12th result for last 3-5 year's for Schools in Noida (as this is first competitive exam at which child will be judged at India/Board level). DPS and Somerville have done exceptional in this area (>97% in different streams science/commerce etc since last 3 years).
Somerville is very much focused on dicipline, moral values and commitment towards students. Last year Somerville principal received award from President. Reason was class 12th result got messed with some other school and school received very percentage for there students. Principal did not published result in school and herself took initiative to ensure copy is re-examined. Finally CBSC found the problem and corrected.

In overall development focus of somerville is good (not exceptional). They focus on communication, cultural, Quiz and limited sports activity. They do not have swimming, tennis etc but do have Football, cricket, PT, NCC.

DPS has a established big network and very good at providing environment suited for over all development. But as parent one need to be more focused for kid at higher level (after 6th).

FAS: Best school in Noida w.r.to Value for education. We will be going for Sommerville but I will still rate FAS higher then Somerville for extra carricular activity in sports (swmming), less work load on childeren at early age. They are focused in education and moral values equally. But at higher level FAS has not done great in education (last 3 year toppers have got 91-92 % in class 12th).
In nurserry teacher/student ratio is 40:1, but this is not much concern for us. I really admire my son's class teacher as she ensure to send note regularly. If my son is sick and miss school, on request she sends notebook/homework with detail with other kid who stay with us in same socity.

International Schools - Too new to judge. Most of them are more focused towards personality development, parent networking. They are very good at marketing and explore parent limitation/concern. This has influenced existing Schools a lot (DPS, Somerville etc) and they are also getting in International School race for simple reason - Easy money.
If parent can effort money and looking for day care facility (breakfast/lunch/tea in school), class room infrastructure conditions (A.C School/Bus), lot of extra curricular activities (Horse riding/Tennis etc), national level coach (visiting facility), international trip etc - They can go for this option.

In my opinion student from International Schools will be good in communication and personality. Education basics as - Subject fundamental and moral values are not guaranteed until parents are too focused.

I will put Amity in International School category only. Also note Amity influence student/parent to choose subject in 12th for which they have courses at graduation level in Amity University/Colleges.

At last note that above mentioned detail is my personal view and preference. I have no intention to influence other.

WOW..Thanks for sharing your analysis. It will surely help!

Mr.Shishir Kumar

Greatly appreciate your deep analysis of few most sought after schools as a parent. Hope it helps other parents in deciding a best school for their child.

Thanks for your analysis as we need to take decision for these schools

Hello Shishir, thanks for this valuable information.

please also share information regarding  Bal Bharti School Noida.

GARIMA WHAT HAV U DECIDED FOR UR KID. WE R FACING THE SAME PROBLEM AS U R AND MOREOVER WE HAVE LESESR CHOICE AS OUR DOUGHTER IS NOV 2010 BORN... HAVE U SUBMITTED THE FEES IN BAL BHARATI?

@Richie,  Still not sure. No, i will last day for same ( fro bal bharti)

@Garima Sorry I am not the right person to suggest in this case (had not applied). My method to analyze is influenced from Amity questionnaire. In case you have multiple option - Tough part will be to understand your priority. Note that school priority can be different than ours and you can not put multiple items at same priority level.

Focus on Education - What does this mean? Do you compare academic result of 12th, How many went to IIT, AIMS/Medical etc?
Over All Development
    a) Sports activity
    b) Cultural activity
    c) Communication Skills - Debate, Quiz etc
Focus on Values
Social Activity
Parent Teacher Interaction
School Distance
Child teacher Ratio

You can get most information exploring school website (do not get confused via advertisements published by schools).

Getting our kid admitted to a particular school is just a start. Actual work begins later. No matter which school our kid goes, no one can stop him to achieve what he is capable of.

Wish you all the best and luck!!!

Thanks Shishir,

It was very nice of you to share your views. As a parent i really appreciate  your opinion.

Hi Shishir, thanks much for such beautiful insights.

I was a bit confused between DPSN & FASN. I think we will go with FASN now.

Thanks a lot mr shishir kumar
