Admission Dates | Admission Criteria | Compare schools | Fee Details

Hello Friends ,

My daughter is in DPS sec 45 gurgaon pre-nursery wing. I was in shock to see 30 kids in one class with only two teachers. I just dont get it how they will groom a 3 yr kid with this high ratio.

other things to mention

1) Dirty classrooms

2) Teachers are not very polite/they use fear to control kids

3) seen teachers pushing and pulling kids. Shocked...had a fight too with teacher on this.

4) no LCD/Music in class.

please share your experience also.

in FAPS(Frank Anthony Public School), Lajpat Nagar - IV with 2 teachers in a nursery class there are about 50-70 students. On the orientation day, Principal updated the parents that there are about approx 70 students in a class.

So with 30 kids in a class with 2 teachers is pretty much okay as compared to FAPS with 2 teachers/70 students (:-

Thanks Lathaa & Neha. I hope my kids(twin case) are able to adjust as quickly as possible to the school. Since the admission process has dragged too long and also, it looks like there is not end to this stalemate(completion of admission process) in coming few weeks time, I would prefer to keep my kids at FAPS as of now and once the admission process completes or atleast there are no more PILs in the court , I will rethink whether to keep the kids in the same school or not.

Lets see where my kid's destiny takes them

All big schools are blindly filling their pre nursury classes so as to ease their admissions later on. how can anyone teach/learn with 70 kids and 2 teachers.

wish i have chosen a good pre-school for my kid :(

@ kids Admissions

We have got the same feedback in sep -oct 2013 and earlier from parents the the same school.

I wud suggest you to post this thread in Gurgaon group where you will find many parents of the same school.

At the lower primary level, The PTR under RTE is 30:1. However, Children below 6 years do not come under the purview of RTE Act

You are right Neha. Schools will turn in good performances if their Pupil Teacher Ratio is less than 30:1. At the same time, schools with PTR of more than 40 have very little chance of demonstrating that a majority of their children achieve the learning outcomes for their age or grade. So PTR has great correlation with learning outcomes of children.

If RTE Act is only for children below 6 years how come it has addressed ECCE under Section 11 of the Act which states, "with a view to prepare children above the age of three years for elementary education and to provide early childhood care and education for all children until they complete the age of six years, the appropriate Government may make necessary arrangement for providing free pre -school education for such children".

Thanks Lathaa. I am not sure whether schools really follows these guidelines.

@ Ankush Grover....my case is same as yours..My daughter is also going to FAPS but i am not at all satisfied..i see 70 kids with 2 teachers..moreover there is no attention given to each kid, no cleaniness, no security ...but also i have no choice even after filling 26 schools, so opted for FAPS..even my daughter is not happy in the school..

@Shikha, FAPS always have 70 kids or atleast 60 kids in a class. But most of the parents I have met, even one of my cousin's both sons are studying in FAPS are satisfied on the academics line. I had a choice as my daughter name was there in The Foundation School, but did not opted as it was an afternoon school. Lets see if my kids(twin case) appears in some other school than i will rethink whether to move them to another school or not. So far its okay with me. I am focusing more on academics for my kids and also, FAPS is not far from my home (10-15 mins distance).

My kids says they are happy in the school. Since both are in the same class they are always in each other company.

FAPS is also near to my home . I stay in lajpat nagar 1. even i heard about its academics that its good..even i am waiting for some court decision so that i can also have options and then i will rethink.
