I am sorry to break it you all, but think we are being overzealous here as in many schools Siblings and alumni cases are eating in to the major %age of general seats. Their should be rationalization or quota for sibling and alumni points as well.
Today NGFS - Saket has come out with their admission details. 99 candidates for 123 general seats have 75+ points - These are sibling cases and alumni case with transfer points.
Also, if we do the DPS EOK & VV analysis. If, we remove transfer points from the picture even then the general category seats do not open up for 70 pointers as Siblings and alumni would be absorbed and next to zero seats would be available for commoners. This is going to be a problem in all the old schools where up to 75 - 85% of the seats would be taken up by sibling and alumni cases.
If we consider comparatively newer schools the sibling share would be any where between 35% - 50% .
In a nutshell "STILL THE GENERAL CATEGORY SEATS FOR 70 POINTERS WOULD BE LIMITED". Solution which we all need to propose is pretty simple -
5% Quota for Siblings
5% Quota for Alumni
5% Quota for Interstate transfer
This is cleaner and a better solution for all the general quota parents. Please suggest or add on to this as we need to immediately take action so as to avoid being late again.
