नर्सरी ( प्री स्कूल ) में दाखिले के लिए तय किए जा रहे पॉइंट सिस्टम में एज फैक्टर को भी शामिल किया गया है। एलकॉन पब्लिक स्कूल , मयूर विहार ने अपने पॉइंट फॉर्म्युले में इसके लिए अधिकतम 25 पॉइंट रखे हैं। खास बात यह है कि इस स्कूल में साढ़े तीन साल या इससे अधिक उम्र वाले बच्चों को एडमिशन में प्राथमिकता मिलेगी। फिलहाल तो एलकॉन पब्लिक स्कूल ने एज फैक्टर को पॉइंट दिए हैं लेकिन अभी काफी स्कूलों का क्राइटेरिया आना बाकी है , जिसमें से कुछ के फॉर्म्युले में यह शर्त शामिल किए जाने की उम्मीद है।
एलकॉन पब्लिक स्कूल ने 100 पॉइंट फॉर्म्युला तय किया है। स्कूल के मुताबिक जिन बच्चों का जन्म 30 सितंबर 2008 या इससे पहले हुआ है , उनको 25 पॉइंट मिलेंगे। यानी इस कैटिगरी में साढ़े तीन साल के बच्चे को पूरे 25 पॉइंट मिलेंगे। दूसरी कैटिगरी में बताया गया है कि 1 अक्टूबर 2008 से 31 दिसंबर 2008 के बीच पैदा हुए बच्चों को 15 पॉइंट मिलेंगे। तीसरी कैटिगरी में उन बच्चों को रखा गया है , जो 31 मार्च को 3 साल के होंगे और उन बच्चों को 10 पॉइंट मिलेंगे।
स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल डॉ . आर . के . शर्मा का कहना है कि तीन साल का बच्चा स्कूल जाने के लिए काफी छोटा होता है और इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए कोशिश की गई है कि साढ़े तीन साल के बच्चे को एडमिशन में प्राथमिकता दी जाए। उन्होंने कहा कि तीन साल के बच्चे को स्कूल आने में काफी परेशानी होती है। हालांकि वह कहते हैं कि 3 साल के बच्चे को भी एडमिशन से मना नहीं किया जाएगा। स्कूल ने पॉइंट सिस्टम में तीन कैटिगरी बनाई हैं।
एडमिशन नर्सरी डॉट कॉम के फाउंडर सुमित वोहरा स्कूल के इस फैसले पर सवाल उठाते हैं। उनका कहना है कि उम्र के आधार पर एडमिशन में भेदभाव नहीं किया जा सकता। शिक्षा निदेशालय की गाइड लाइंस के मुताबिक 3 साल के बच्चे को नर्सरी में एडमिशन मिल सकता है तो फिर ऐसा नहीं होना चाहिए कि कुछ स्कूलों में साढ़े तीन साल के बच्चे को ज्यादा पॉइंट मिले। सभी को बराबरी का मौका मिलना चाहिए। हालांकि पैरंट्स की इस मसले पर अलग - अलग राय है। कुछ पैरंट्स का मानना है कि साढ़े तीन साल के बच्चे को ज्यादा पॉइंट देने का फैसला ठीक है तो कुछ की राय है कि स्कूल के इस फैसले से तीन साल के बच्चों का एडमिशन तो बहुत मुश्किल हो जाएगा क्योंकि उसे सिर्फ 10 पॉइंट ही मिल रहे हैं।

such point system reduces the eligiility of most of the children. I am considering Ahlcon for my son admission, but from such point system, I can only manage 35 pts. which I think is not sufficient.

are they considering 4+ kids for nursery? i didn't get this.

In my personal opinion, I think this is absolutely correct, because if a child is already 3.5+ yrs, then he/she should have priority over younger children. Also believe me 3yrs old is definitely too small to go to formal school. This system would definitely improve the avg. class age and it really matters in 1st five years of schooling.(This I'm say through my personal experience)
I don't think there is any discrimination, try to understand the idea behind it.
