This is not the appropriate parameter to analyse the admissions solely on distance as it will deprive the others who donn't have Good schools within 1 km . Admissions should be on the merits of the child

Nice name for the group Rahul ji,u used it earliar too....
But even i feel only distance as a criteria for admission is unfair.... mostly to ppl who do not have good schools in their vicinity.... Most of the seats would b grabed by south n central delhi ppl where all good schools r located.
What about us?
Where will we go?
I'll b trying this year too in KG for my daughter,so whats the probability of getting admission?

Every year the govt. come up with some ridiculous new ideas...it's only the parents who has to suffer during the admission process...by GOD's grace my daughter is now in a good school...but the days spent for admissions still haunt me....i can really feel the problems for the parents who resides a bit away frm any good school.

Just neighbourhood criteria....? and that too within 1km? where are the schools?

It's good to know that i'm not the only one confused, concerned and eager! I think the distance criteria makes me feel that my residence should have been in a different area coz my child may never go to a good school. It concerns me deeply and i hope there is a voice here, but everyone seems to be too busy with CWG to notice the plight of parents..

The root cause of problem is that seats are less students are more and what make situation worse that parents run after big names even if u make distance as a criteria even then those who are having good schools in their neighbourhood will make hue and cry that they are not able to get their child admitted in a particular school of their choice as it is far away.
so whatever criteria govt fix everyone will never be satisfied. Earlier it was interview system that was also not acceptable then comes the points system which favors girl child, alumni, sibling and govt/transferable job now the distance criteria.
one interesting thing u will see students from rohini or shalimar bagh admitted to schools in south delhi so above all criteria there is something which works .
