I applied in around 9 schools ( DPD, Bal bharti, VIS Sector-10, Shri VIS Sector-18, Modern Convent school, N K Bagrodia school, DAV School, Mount Carmel, BGS International ) which are in close vicinity to our residence but could not manage to get admission in any one of them and do not know for what reason.

Now i really do not know what to do and the school where we have an option to get admission is much more expensive and distance is more than 8 kms away where my child will have to travel for 1.5 hrs everyday and extra transportation cost.

I really do not know what to do and if anybody can really help us and what this point system about.
Thanks Mr. Vohra for taking this issue.
SIR I'M STAYING AT MEHRAULI, SO OBVIOUSLY MY CHILD DOESN'T GET ANY GOOD POINTS FOR DISTANCE IN ANY OF THE SCHOOL, I WAS MAINLY BANKING UPON MINE AND MY HUSBAND'S QUALIFICATION BUT AFTER THESE LAST MINUTE CHANGES, WE ARE VERY TENSE AND EVEN LOOKING OUT FOR PEOPLE WHO CAN HELP THRU OTHER WAYS.
1. THIS IS MY FIRST CHILD(SON), SO NO POINT FOR SIBLING CATEGORY.
2. AND I AM FROM ST. ANTHONYS, A GIRLS SCHOOL, MY HUSBAND IS A PRODUCT OF BAL BHARTI AIR FORCE THAT BEGINS ADMISSIONS FOR KG CLASS, SO NO ALUMNI POINTS TOO.
3. NOT SEPERATED
4. ALSO NOT A TRANSFER CASE.
SO ONLY AND ONLY OUR QUALIFICATION SEEMED USEFUL, BUT NOW WE SEEM TO STAND NOWHERE FOR A CHILD WHO HAS EVEN RECEIVED A TALENTED CHILD AWARD. PL. HELP.

Please do raise this issue for sure as many have suffered. It can be attributed both ways - schools and more importantly, the Education Dept. I had applied to not-so-famous-schools near my residence. The story remained the same - Sibling, Alumni, Single Parent, Girl Child. Hence even after applying in may schools, my son's name did not feature in any of the waiting lists too! What harm does it have if a school is appreciating professional parent??? Agreed there should not be discrimination, but appreciation should be there. Though I am a physically challenged person and completed my engineering, I never felt tired to run around and apply for my son's admission. But now, I feel really helpless! I am just hoping that some magic happens for all the children who have not been selected!
We lost 25 points in BlueBells School International and 30 points in The Indian School due to the DOE's

directives of withdrawal of the professional/qualification points. Now we have fallen into the dust and have

to be content with whatever we get.
I agree sir...I would also like to know what could be the ideal system of admission? What process should be followed.

Hi All,

I applied in 14 schools but no luck.. I think we all parents shud meet and protest in front of Mr. Education Minister House
I think this issue should be raised in a big way. we had applied for 6 schools in but due to last moment change in admission criteria could not get selected. As per the criteria my son could not get admission in delhi schools. We all parents should give dharna/march at the minister's office to change the whole admission system.
hi all,
Mr. mishra i am very much agree with u that we sld protest in front of education minister house. I have been applied in 12 school but faced rejection. some school are just in 1 km and we rejected just because of that new point system at the last moment. i dont know wat will happen with the parents who is having a single child or first child. Because according to the points only siblings are getting benefits. we loose points on single parents, siblings, alumni, transferable job and special needs so remains wat? only distance?????
Hi Sheena but I don't agree with u on this. Why should a child be deprived of the right to good education because the parents don't have big degrees or a high-flying career? I have secured a seat for my daughter. But this whole nursey admission process shows there's a huge demand-supply gap. If the earlier system of interviewing three-four year old kids was wrong, the present points system is discriminatory. Why only professional and educaional qualifications, even the other criteria have drawbacks. The neighbourhood points mean if I am not staying in south Delhi, my kid will not get admission in any of the top schools. A first-born has a lesser chance of getting admission.
Rather than acting on a random manner, the govt should look into filling this demand-suply gap. And this is what all parents should raise our voices for.

Thanx Mr. Vohra for ur concern over this issue.....
This is absolutely unethical to remove the education n proffession points at the last moment......
I mean what is Mr. Lovely trying to prove? They dont want educated parents in the school....
Why have we worked hard then... C i m a homemaker with regular MBA degree. So is it a waste then?
I dont want to hurt any1's feelings but i feel that a professionally qulaified mother/father has an edge over a non qualified parent. A Doctor/I.S for sure is way ahead of us..... So there is a difference....

I think voice sholud be raised for the issue..............
Hi Sumit ji. I have secured a seat for my kid. But I believe this is not just about any last-minute change or educational/professional degrees. Why should a child be deprived of the right to good education because the parents don't have big degrees or a high-flying career? This whole nursey admission process shows there's a huge demand-supply gap. A first-born has a lesser chance of getting admission. parents who were not born and brought up in Delhi --- and there is a huge number of them --- are also at disadvantage.
Rather than acting on a random manner, the govt should look into filling this demand-suply gap. And this is what all parents should raise our voices for. Like ALWAYS, U CAN TAKE THE LEAD.
IT WAS REALLY ANNOYING AND DISAPPOINTING TO FIND THAT PROFESSION AND EDUCATIONAL QUALIFIACTIONS OF PARENTS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO ROLE TO PLAY IN GETTING ONE'S CHILD GETTING A SEAT TO LEARN A B C IN SCHOOL.
MY 4 YR SON DID NOT GET SEAT IN ANY OF THE 12 SCHOOLS I APPLIED FOR,I FEEL LIKE A LOSER INSPITE OF BEING A UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEMBER WHERE I TRAIN THE STUDENTS TO BECOME MANAGEMENT EXPERTS.BUT I COULD NOT MANAGE MY CHILD TO EVEN SECURE A SEAT FOR NURSERY.I FEEL, ALL MY QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION IS USELESS.
This year the system was only mend for Sibling, Alumini, Girl Child, Transfer cases and donations
