Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

I am in big dilemma.I am putting my case(3.5 year old son for Nursery 2013 session)  as I have a big brand of International school GEMs International(good infra./AC classes etc) with in 2 kms from my house ,its in growing phase just 2 years old, but doing efforts, have vast exp. in other branches and I am also trying for an established brand of AMITY/DPS which are around 10-12 kms from my house.School Commutation is available for all. All schools are from CBSE and till 12th class. What should I OPT

GEMs International in Growing phase not yet established its current branch but have big brand name and rich exp. in other branches

OR

Amity/DPS which are 10-12 kms away. Is it justified that a 3.5 yrs old kid travel 24 kms perday(time taken based on traffic density) in traffic for schooling. Please share your thoughts and VOTE.

My personal take , for such a young kids you should go for near by schools (if they are good) and don't run for brands .They are too young to travel so much

After few years, if you are not satisfied  you can always change to far off school (and kids can cope also)

I also feel the same. A small kid should not spend his time in travelling as it would take him almost an hour more in the morning as well as evening to/from school. If you don't like the school, you can change it at a later time.

Thanks Sakshi and Rakesh,I value your point and will surely consider them. But one point I want to discuss is that 2 kms is taking 25-30 minutes by school bus and 9 kms is taking an hour so the difference is 30 minutes only.

The school should be near to your house:-

Save time for the child

The child will not get much tired

You can reach the school easily in case there is any emergency

I am also under same dilemma,  the only issue i feel is that later if we want to get the child admitted in some other school we will have to face this complex process of admission again. As it is very difficult to get an admission and if we go for second time, we will have to pay the admission fees again which is quite high these days.

I do agree with you sweety same issue is bothering me. Admission is not easy plus the admission fee is a very high amount.

Bhavnessh, try to find a middle path. Many kids in my society go to school which are 10 kms one way so its kinda normal. Although closer home is more preferable, since we are in NCR area here 10 kms is actually considered close.

You should be satisfied with the school, otherwise you will be in a fix all the time and it will keep troubling you. All the best!

Even I am under the same dilemma. I would not like to send my 3 year old kid to a school 10 kms away. They are too young to travel.

I am right now in 60-40 mindset - 60% inclined towards nearby school - which can grow to be a successful school 4-5 years down the line. And 40% inclined towards a far away successful school...

Still deciding
