sakshi,
My son date of birth is 15th Dec. 2009. Am i apply for his addmission in Jan 13 this year in the nursery class.
@Amit yes he needs to be 3yrs + on 31mar 2013 .so he is eligible for nursery.
Excellent point raised by Mr. Amit. Similar to School Federation etc, is there an official forum or representative for Parents that can put forward this point with the Edu ministry? If Govt understands the plight of private unaided schools, it should also lend ears to parents' plight. Online availability of forms is the 1st step to help parents who wouldn't have to stand in long queues early in chilly winter mornings. This should be mandated for all schools.
@Rohit,DOE has made it mandatory for every school to have website but many schools don't have. As far as online forms are concerned after our repeated voice in media ,many schools have done it but other schools like springdales etc have not.
Hi, I am new to the forum.. can u tell me what all documents are required for the admission. Do they ask for parents graduation degree? I have not yet collected it from my college... I do have final year mark sheet but not the degree.
@Shalini, As per RTE no points can be given on qualification but school can ask for your proffesion so better get ant provisional document
List of doc given below
Thnaks a lot, its a help... also when they say admissions will start from jan 1, does that mean they will issue the admission form from 1 jan and not before? Also on what basis do they shortlist the forms, is it only points based.
Sale of Application forms will start from 1st Jan and hope last date of form distribution and submission would be 16th or 18th Jan. Yes most of the schools shortlist candidates based on points and very few schools go for lot system based on different category.
dear Mam,
I would like to take the sale of application aspect a little further by requesting you to suggest how we should respond to demand from specific schools which do not sell separate forms other than which is available in the school prospectus whose cost runs into some hundreds instead of Rs 10/- or 20/- which it should actually cost!
Some inputs from parents of children who must have faced this predicament in the previous years would be highly appreciated by all ( I think?)
@ Sinchita
You are right. Education is being run like a commercial business enterprise these days: ASSOCHAM. As per their last analysis Schools must have earned Rs.1500 Crores in just sale of application forms and they recommended Common Admission Form as the only solution. As per as last year many schools are asked not to force and give prospectus and just an application cost was Rs.25. Many parents brought this to the attention of our forum and few schools started to give only application forms after Mr.Vohra's intervention through media.
If you are not willing just avoid taking the high rated prospectus.
Today's TOI has an article on nursery admissions which says "Also, schools will be given a month's time to process the forms and interview parents before they come out with the first list of shortlisted candidates by February 15."
I thought there is no formal interaction with the child or the parents during the whole admission procedure. Please correct me if I understood wrong because that has added to my worries.
