Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

I am one of the parents who could not get my girl child admitted in any school in Delhi due to the flawed point system prepared by the our LEARNED Minister - Mr. Lovely. He obviously does not know a thing about education so definitely he has copied the concept from somewhere but he is not good at copying also.

You would be surprised to know that the school which is in front of my house has given me 30 points out of 100, how can somebody get admission for their children without submitting false certificates.

I have written to the Chief Minister of Delhi and soon would write to the Prime Minister of India that the brainless ministers must be removed from the ministry.

No of seats in schools in Delhi is definitely not more than no of Children. This situation arise (1) Because every parent is after few sought after schools. (2) Introduction of EWS reduced the general category seats in all schools drastically whereas these children where going to govt. schools earlier. Considering the "so great" conditions of govt schools no one wants to send their kids in there. By 25% EWS seats govt has just passed their own responsibility of providing quality education to private schools. Now, where the question of donation is come from, if there are fare rules set for admissions and implemented efficiently then no donation based admission should be allowed.

yes, EWS also has effect on admn this year... we did see some children getting admn in multiple schools, but post their selection in one school, we didnt see much effect in nos of seats in schools..

Gov should improve on govt /aided/ kendriya vidylaya etc.

less points system

strict guidelines on EWS- define clearly poor class category

naresh ji ...... before the start of the admission season this year , there were many hearings in hon'ble  court regarding issues of entry level age in schools and point system, but the admission procedure went with the same point system . so its not sure that filing a case in supreme court would largely help or not because there will be delay tactics again as last time from the government or defendant's side .

i believe media and social networking sites are a good way to highlight the issue so as more and more people get the awareness , and also the parents who will be applying next year could join in . that will be help these issues to gain momentum and preassure will be added, and the process should be continous .

and rightly said by manu dhawan , the main reason of this situation is that we as parents look for the most sought after schools and people from high income groups are willing to pay any amount as donations or bribe into these high end and reputed schools , a uniform point system where schools are made to follow standard guidelines and a transparent lottery system will largely help in decreasing the chaos .

Hi Tanmeet, I agree and appreciate your point of view, the pressure needs to be exerted from all possible channels. Going to the court is to challenge the authenticiy of the certificates people have submitted, how can one person score 90 points in 10 schools that too when he is on transfer. As Manu said, this is a bigger scam than the CWG scam, people are taking money to get you 90 points.

We definitely will fight.

Naresh- I admire your courage. Even i had tried last year but failed to get a Nursery Seat. This year I used all my influence. End result was that my son got through one of the leading schools in Central Delhi.

I would suggest thatfor next year you also start exploring options for either paying through a Management Quota or use your contacts.

Most parents might perceive me to be a villain who has used back door means to get a seat. But this is the reality of life

Hi Ravi,

If and only if this is the alternative I would have followed you but don't forget that these politicians are like Britishers of the past so we have to become Bhagat Singhs etc. I may not be able to seek admission for my child in the coming years as well in Delhi, I will send her to a boarding school but will not give up the fight and will definitely not water her roots with corruption.

Why let your kid suffer by sending him/her to a baording school.

Like i said, I admire your courage but we need to be practical. A revolution does not happen over night.

@ Naresh.... Group on Facebook with name Scam(one more!!!)... :) It will give ONE more push to our policy makers towards controlling the internet content; they are already working on it with a rocket pace, more than they ever did for anything else like Lokpal. Turning rebellious is one option but that will not ensure fare admission policies as according to them it is already very very good. If things push hard and come out in open than they will start counting us with Maoists and soon it may turn out to be an ugly war against individuals. The easy option is BUY a seat like Ravi ji did, that will ensure the “results”. I would really like if people oppose me on this and start taking the hard way because that’s the Right Way. I will join the page on FB.

I think the best system would be to make a shortlist on the basis of area points and then conduct a draw of lots. The advantages are as follows:

1) Outsiders won't be able to apply

2) Instead of some schools attracting best talent, all schools will get best talent by default. That means all schools will become 'good'

3) No discrimination on the basis of 'sibling', 'alumni', 'divorcee', 'girl child', 'transfer', 'first child' etc.(We should ask ourselves what is the poor child's crime if he is not in these categories. Bachey man ke sache!)

The discrimination begins when we introduce points under categories like 'transfer' , 'alumni' , 'divorcee', 'sibling', 'first child', 'girl child'. There is absolutely no connection between these categories and nursery admissions. We should ask ourselves a simple question -- Why should these categories get special status? Are they disadvantaged in any way (like physically handicapped)? Is there any school which denies you admission just because you are a divorcee or transferred from outside Delhi? The only category relevant is the 'area' category because it is the proximity to the school which shapes a child's future in a certain way.
