Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools
The nursery admission system in Delhi does not give a FAIR opportunity to all children. For a boy child who is a first born and whose parents are not an Alumni of any school in Delhi, these children do not get qualified to be at the top of the list of even ONE school, even if the school is just next to their house, how unfair is that?
Already, only a maximum of 55% of the seats in a school are open for General Category (25% reserved for EWS and 20% management quota). From this 55% seats the top of the list for all schools is occupied by Siblings, Alumni, Staff children and in some schools girl children and what remains is available to the rest of the children.
According to me, a fair opportunity would be given when every child has a top score in at least 2-3 schools, this might increase the count of children at the highest score but at least THEY WILL ALL GET A FAIR CHANCE IN THE DRAW. The sibling/alumni/staff/girl child points should be restricted to limited seats. A draw should be held for the remaining of the seats which should be the major portion of seats.
Take this real example where a school has a total of 325 seats of which only 179 seats are in the open category of which 123 have already been filled up by siblings, alumni and staff students. Only the rest 56 were available to the remaining 3000+ applicants. So in short, 123 seats directly allotted to 123 students and only 56 seats for the remaining 3000+ applicants, how unfair is that for those 3000+ applicants?
