Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2026-27

Untill and unless alumni points are scrapped together with transfer pointers than only we 70 pointers will not get seat in any school. As I feel in all schools where draw is for 75 pointers ,50% are alumni and hence they are in waistline.now  those  seat will get confirmed after transfer r put in 70 points and there will not be any chance for 70 pointers.Schools will not take the pain to redraw and they will only fill the vacant seat from the wait list. Alumni r always welcome in every schoolSo we have to appeal for scarping of alumni points also and only than it will be fair for all kids..

We should inform the Doe that when all the transfered 75 pointers will be removed from confirmed list ...the vacant seats will be fill by the 75 pointers from waitlist and there will be no chance for the 70 pointers...God pls help us...

What I am saying is that : "We should inform the Doe that when all the transfered 75 pointers will be removed from confirmed list…than those seat will be automatically filled by the 75 Alumni from waitlist" (and there is already a confirmed list and waitlist of 70 poiters list...which will remain as it was)Than in this scenario those removed from TP will never get a chance to participate in draw. This is not their fault that they have claim transfer point...Doe should understand this point. So a redraw for all 70 pointers a must.

I am writing this for the future admissions for next year/s.
Alumni means pride of student in his parent in the school and pride of school in their students.
When a teacher meets his old student one can see th pride in her eyes and give him/her confidence energy and sense of victory which furher help them to do the hard work in making the citizens of the future.
what a great feeling when old parent enter in the school and say hey kid this is the school where I studied and kid says hey Dad/Mom I also wanna study here.
Pride Pride and only Pride is the synonym of Alumni.
One thing more the battle won't end after getting the seat. Please mark my words that it will happen each day when your child will go to school. Each day will be full of responsibility, challenge and tensions so please leave all the worries aside as it won't let you think positively.
Many a times we say we don't trust schools whether they are playing fair game or not but Dear Friends you need this TRUST a lot and daily during the time you will be at office or home and your little one will be in school. You will really need the belief that management and staff of the school is taking care of your child in best possible manner.
Some of you who are struggling for the admission of first child and cursing sibling points will only know its value at the time of admission of second child. It will be extremely painful at that point of time where the siblings will be going to different schools but you will be helpless. While sdmitting first child you have many choices but at the time of sibling admission you have only one choice even if it is an average school.
God bless every reader and the children and lets make better future for them.

alumni points are not justified and the points for distance should be staggered. It should be 70 points for 1-3 km,60 points for 3.1-6 km,50 points for 6.1-8 km,40 points for above 8km

Who said being alumni is illegal? Alumni do honour the schools by achieving marvellous targets . It is the imbalanced guideline which steering our thoughts? Dont you think that at current situation 5 alumni points is big setback fair chance to every kid? How a first kid residing just opposite to a reputed school will get the right opportunity? for 10 seats 10k kids will compete.. is not all this nonsense?

Alumni quota can be there not wholesome 5 point like transfer cases in current scenario. Even if it is lesser evil at this situation ..still it is evil all coz of the imbalance in point allocation.

Practically both sibling as well as alumni are valid categories, but giving them points is depriving the major chunk of the city's children the desired admission.
The only solution and a permanent one to this problem is to first define all the valid/justified categories and then allot them a limited/set quota to each category. In this way all the sections of the society will be served and every applicant's name will put to lottery in its respective category.
Just like the understanding that seats are not enough has sunk in after removal of transfer points, the same will happen even after alumni and sibling are removed. It's a demand supply gap issue. Government is not making its own schools supple, instead handing over 25 percent quota to EWS in private, unaided schools. Since its is a politically sensitive issue, no one dare touch it. But the fact remains that there are more kids than seats and some guidelines have to be in place to avoid chaos. In a world of free draws, everyone loses as schools can completely manipulate the seats and sell them. There is no perfect way of executing it. Sibling and alumni advantage lasts in one school, unlike transfer points which gave the same person an edge in every school. Also, unlike distance, these cannot be faked also. Lastly, do remember that it's the achievements of alumni that make good schools great. All our kids will make it to good schools by the second or third lists. Sometimes, it's just a game of patience.

Deepti - agree. Moreover one should also question the logic of a separate girl child quota in the general category! Not sure why boys should be denied their right to good education. Also, in the ensuing confusion, a lot of genuine transfer case parents could have lost out.

Deepti..youhave said the exact cause of this chaos. From begining i am asserting that bringing private/govt schools to standarad levle is the only ultimate solution. A genuine effort from govt.to make at least pre primary education to a very good level in govt. Sector there is no solution.

Whenever I read this forum I feel that everyone wants the rule to be customised as per his/her likings. eg:

1) Transfer cases - Was there an issue of transfer case criteria or genuine transfer case criteria. Now when the transfer case criteria is abolished people are worried about genuine transfer cases.

2) Alumni - Is the problem with Alumni criteria or Alumni of Good Schools? No one will ever crib about someone getting additional points under alumni criteria in average schools but the problem is in schools like DPS RKP, EOK etc.

I am an alumni of a Delhi school which was not very renowned but do not want my kid to study in that school. There may be many parents who do not want their kids to study in the school in which they studied. An everyone has been an alumni of some or the other school. I agree someone might have shifted etc but what about the ones who have not shifted and spent their entire life.. And it is the Alumni that adds to the school reputation as they carry their school name forever. So what is the problem in this criteria I fail to understand. eg SRK and St Columba's School. Given a situation does his kids deserve to be a part of this school?? For that matter take any CEO, MD of a co...

I think it is only about good schools that people are worried of... No one will ever be bothered about not so popular/good schools.

even in average schools i am finding alumni taking up most of the seats.

if it would have been 5-10% no body would have bothered but majority of seats going this way.
