How can they not do it?
For parents, Average Investment per form Rs 200-300.
Average trips per school 2-3 visits
Average holidays from office 2-3 weeks

And time taken to create panic, 2-3 Days before the results at the last moment. Huh.

It sounds so easy and simple against the efforts of parents who tirelessly run around, invest time and money, browse through internet to catch a glimpse of their child’s name in the lists.

We will issue a notification once this year’s admissions are over.’’ He added, ‘‘Our officials last year could not monitor the admissions as they were busy with the election duty. But it’s a warning to schools this time.’’

@ lovely saab- so u were not 100% sure in oct 2009 when the so siad and called strict warning were issued of action. Why didnt the schools were stalled from flouting. Where were ur officials then and doing what (busy washing ur linen ???).

how shamelessly lovely saab is shifting and covering up his and his department's inefficiency/slumber onto election work. Does it mean the whole staff of DOE was on election duty and their normal work was at standstill - is it ???

Lovely /DOE chief should take the responcibility of the mess( which is happening every year under the nose of same minister and DOE chief ) and give to let someone else more efficient and eligible manage the affairs

Hi Sumit

Really great job and a strong move. Thanks for all your efforts.

I agree with Richa, KR Mangalam has not disclosed points. How they have distributed points still unsolved.

Thanks

Hi Sumit,

Good Afternoon!!!

I need your help on a question like…

The Schools are asking to submit the original Birth certificate of child, not the attested (by gazette officers) copies.

So, Can you suggest me is it a rule as per government or monopoly by schools ?

If it is monopoly by Schools, we can suggest to parents not to do that, else we have to go to the NDMC office for another copy for other purpose and they will also take charges.
And we know the birth certificate is not only for school admission, if other departments like passport office will do same then how many copies will we collect from NDMC?

Is it an ongoing process?
Hi Sumit,
Keep up the Good Job you are doing. You have a mass along with you.
Also regarding Mr Lovely's Comment,I wish it came before any of the schools sent out their list.
Now at the eleventh hour,What will D O E do when there arebarely any seats left.
Mr Lovely, Kindly rescue all us parents who are freaked out with sleepless nights due to the addmisson fever.
I am advising my newly wedded friends to start searching for a good school for their forthcoming kids.
I think a rule shouldbe made that all politicians kids have to study in a govt school and use only govt hospitals. Once they know that their kids will have to study only in govt schools.. then only they will focus on improving it. They make their kids study in top shot schools and send them abroad for higher education and dont realise how the general public is suffering. the only way to make them realize is by putting them into same situation.
We are really helpless, DPS Vasant Kunj gave 10 points to children of Central Government people. Above that, they had their own definition of Central Government employees and so they didn't gave us those points to us as my husband is Assistant Professor in a college of University of Delhi (a Central University). There are hundreds of such applications those are rejected by the school.
This is for the first time that I am sharing my thoughts. I have filled forms at 14 schools and recieved calls from five schools. Out of which tree scholls are being run in home. I dont' know what to do. the present system is full of loopholes whether it be a point system or the transparency. Everthing goes for a six.
We will have to understand that the common man like you and me stand no chance in front of elite class of delhi who have connections to rely upon. In interviews we say that we want to be good human being but in reality it is the question of survival for everyone. I am unfortunately a part of this society who have multiple faces.
i am working in ministry of railways, it is ironical that DPS although considers employees of MNCs but does not give any points to the people working in govt sector if they are not on gazetted positions. i had been in the impression for years that government job is one of the most prestigious and respectable one. So i earned 0 points for profession in DPS Rohini
Its a sheer case of stupid point system handled by idiotic government.

- Points for Transfer case (transfer of jobs during playschool???. I can understand transfer case during 1st class etc. but not before child has even started going to school)
- Single parents (Widow cases are fine but divorce cases why?)
- Government jobs (why?, don't you already get more benefits in Income tax etc) You already have schools like sanskriti focussing on Government kids.
- No points for parents education

And schools make a merry out of it. Parents are helpless without getting a single berth for their child.
End result parents have to pay donation money to get admission in good school for their child.
Mockery of education system in India. Completely mismanaged by DOE.

Mr. Lovely are you listening to this.
Hello

I am writing this letter to provide you some information about how your small decision have changed the admission program and lives of small kids

In an effort to start unbiased nursery class admissions the HRD Ministry have asked to remove the points of many categories viz. Parents Qualification, Profession etc. However, even now the admission criteria are very biased.

There are four categories in which various schools are giving points.
1. Neighbourhood points. – This is an essential criterion and is fulfilled by many candidates.
2. Sibling – In this case you are only giving preference to kids having elder sibling in your school. What will happen to all those kids who are first child? As they don’t have sibling, so is this the fault of their parents or some one else.
3. Alumni - If one or both the parents are alumni of this school
4. Single Parent -
5. Transferable Job – Parents who have transferable jobs are preferred. So if you are stable with your business or a permanent govt. or private job, then you won’t get these points. So better leave your permanent job, as instead of your hard work, your stable life is not good for your kid.

Now as a result of this grading, if all points are worth 20 points, then at the end of the day, my child has only 20 points out of 80. What is his fault? Being a first child, or I am married and not single. Or because I have a decent job which is stable. So how will I score more points? There is large no. of candidates having only 20 points. Schools authorities are also confused and are taking out draws. So now my child future depends on draw or luck rather than on my educational qualification or profession. There can’t be transparency in draws, it’s not a Bingo game, but it’s for my child’s future. And who knows there may be donations going on for the particular number to be taken out. In any case if there are donations being given, then a particular share will reach the HRD Ministry also. I am not happy with this system.
hi subha i dont know this is a rule or not i had discussed this issue with the school while depositing the birth certificate they told me that if it is required for any pupose like u said pasport then we have to write an application to them and they will give us to use for the same for other purposes they will certify the date of birth of child.
