Memorandum

From:AdmissionsNursery.com/V R ONE                       Date : 09/02/2011

To,

Shri  P.Krishnamurthy

Director

Directorate  of Education, Delhi

SUBJECT:  To raise the issue of parents plights in the present nursery admission process ( 2011- 2012) and to demand stringent action against erring schools.

The parents want  strict actions by the government against on complaints filed with DOE against schools for not following the government guidelines. Some of them include:

  • Salwan Montessori allocated points for achievements/profession of parents(which amounts to be screening of parents that is banned under RTE.)
  • Modern School  Humayun Road and Vasant Vihar branch both did not disclose any point system for  nursery admissions.
  • Vivek Summit/ Kidsway did not follow a transparent admission process
  • Bal Bharti (Rohini & Dwarka) had a non transparent draw of lots.
  • Laxman Public School and many others conducted draw of lots in the absence of parents (in case of LPS candidates for lottery were more than 1000)
  • K R Mangalam giving admissions to few parents with 70 points but others with 70 were not admitted (.Moreover on the parents on confronting the school authorities were told that it is a school management decision and they have to abide by it.)
  • Indian school  at Sadiq Nagar manipulated transfer points
  • Many schools including the above have not published the breakup of allocated points for the applications received.
  • Summerfields, K R Mangalam, Vivekanand and many other schools are giving admissions on first come first- come-first-serve basis·

 • Tagore International school has mentioned on its website that FEE ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED(Which is totally against DOE guidelines) and many other schools are doing the same, taking fee in cash and not giving the receipt. Doe should issue new circular for fee refund policy again immediately (Schools are giving excuses that there is no clarity/notification on fee refund policy this year)

Further the parents want to propose a Centralised Point System with centralized admission process with following salient features:

1. There should be one common form which should be filled by all parents who are seeking admissions for their kids, online/offline. The form should have all the required details and a few preferred schools.

2. It should be submitted to the DOE or the any concerned impartial authority.

3. Based on the details given by parents, the authorities should assign schools to each child (each child should be given a choice of 4-5 schools to choose from).

4. After this list is out, the parents should choose any one school and submit the same.

5. Once the list is final, the schools should be sent the list of the students who have been admitted in their school.

6  Scrap Alumni Points( Against RTE as alumni is educated till 12th so profiling against uneducated under RTE )

7 Transparency  etc

8 .Strict action against all (schools which flout guidelines)

            9. There should be a uniformity from sale of prospects to declaration of selected

                candidates.

           10. Upper Limit of fees should by schools to be fixed.

           11. Any guidelines should be analysed before implementation.

           12. No child should be left out without admission.

Hi All...I want to thank Sumit ji, sakshi madam and all the parents who made the protest successfull......

I would like to add that Kulachi Hansraj Model school has displayed result Alphabetically and not showing the point gained.........

Hi Sakshi,
I have seen this concept in Maharasthra when i was seeking for admission in B Tech there & now when i saw the problem in nursary admission then the same concept comes in my mind so i have suggested the same. It looks great that few points suggest by me are part of this centralised admission concept.
We should cross our finger for approval & adoptaion of this concept.
idea of centralized admission form is great!!!
Sachdeva Public School (Rohini and Pitam Pura) is taking Rs. 36000 cash and is non refundable, there is no receipt for the same given to the parents. This is against DoE guidelines. We have not got admission in 1st list anywhere, and submitted Rs. 36K cash to this school in Rohini branch. Now our son got admission in 2nd list in a school of our choice. If we want to admit our child in other school, our 36000 will not be refunded to us, then the onlychoice is to retain admission of sachdeva. Dear Sumit and Sakshi....can you pl. raise this as well, so that parents does not get cheated and feel helpless. The school should refund the amount to us.
can anyone please advise some good schools for people putting up in (South Delhi) Lajpat Nagar IV, New Delhi where there's a possibility of admission in nursery for their kids?
Dear Sumit Ji, thanx for your support for parents....

It was nice to see that the centralized form procedure was included in the mamorandum. It might give the authorities an idea of what we actually want. It will also reduce the harassment caused to the parents at the time of admissions and would ensure a transparent and equal probability for admission to all kids!

It is pretty obvious that this concept may not be implemented this year, but if we are clear on what should be doen, it can be possible well in advance for the next session.

I also agree to the point that for the kids of this session, we should increase the seats in nursery for this session and KG seats for the NEXT  SESSION, so that the kids who did not get through the formal schools this year and will continue in the pre-schools, should have enough seats in KG in the next session. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSS O THIS SESSION.

Nice that we were able to voice against the wrong yesterday!

Thanks some of the points from your proposal were also incorporated :)

Hi Sakshi,

I am glad that my opinions were of some help!

all school make different yardstick  in the case of allotting distance point. some givem max point in 1 km some 8km

why sanskriti school spared  they reserved 50% seat for IAS group-A officer. whether this is not profiling of parents.

sanskriti / dps vasant kunj  marked distance point max for radius of 8KM. In diameter of 16 km ( so long) that 1/4th Delhi has been covered .

they has not protected interest of KID  living 1-2 km from school.
