GURGAON: The nursery admissions have started for almost half of the schools in the city and the parents are battling with dilemma over fee structures, schools and curriculums. With the introduction of International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge IGCSE in many schools, choosing curriculum has become a more significant decision than ever.

Currently schools in Gurgaon offer IB, CBSE, ICSE and Cambridge. Some even offer more than one curriculum. According the parents due to more options and lack of information, they are unable to decide on the curriculum. Ritu Sharma, a parent who is hunting a good school for her three year old daughter said that she has a hard time deciding as the number of boards has increased and most of the top schools onlyt offer boards like IB rather than CBSE.

"My husband and I both studied CBSE and hence if we admit our daughter to an IB school, I am not sure if would would be to follow or not. Also we do not want to compromise on the quality of the school because of the board," said Sharma.
Sumit Vohra, founder at nurseryadmissions.com says parents are quite confused about curriculum after entry of many international school as n best part is schools like amity have started amity global school where as truly international schools like kunskapsskolan are following CBSE curriculum

"I do not know what curriculum to choose because most schools are busy marketing their own boards in the middle of which they forget to communicate the features of a particular curriculum which makes it difficult for me to decide as a parent," said Shweta Grover, a parent right now torn between IB and ICSE. The parents further said that they have no place they can go to for counselling over the pros and cons the different boards and given the schools' bias while explaining the curriculums, they find it hard to choose.
