Please share your views whether the age criteria shud be 3 yrs + or 4 yrs + on 31 mar
we are getting mixed views regarding age criteria .some parents feel 3 yrs very small age
and others feel its perfect age as kids are very intelligent these days
pls share pros and cons

i dnt understd one thing why u guys r discussing this age issue when its clearly said tht as admissions in NCR hv alreday been done with 3+ so this yr why delhi children will suffer so we wont change age criteria this time......................issue is only procedure for the admsn of the child either lottery or pint .........and in tht too which points shud be there like sibling distance and so on..............why everybody is writing blog on issue

You are right.
The parents asking for age to be 4+ are making the admission issue more complex, when there are already so many complications related to the admission precedure.
Dear Parents, my sincere advice to you please understand the need for a LOGICAL, UNBIASED AND UNAMBIGUOUS PROCEDURE for nursery admissions.
DO NOT MESS WITH THE AGE ISSUE.
Cann't u realize that the children who have started their school at the age of 3+ are also doing well in studies.
Then why should waste their one precious year of learning in the era of great competition.
WHAT CAN CHANGE IS THE STUDY PATTEN AND METHODOLOGY SO THAT CHILDREN WILL LEARN WITHOUT UNDUE PRESSURE.

yeah i agree with you monika...these guys are simply trying to make things more complex...i have explianed thousand of times why it cant be 4+ as on 31st march but still parents are after 4+ as on 31st march...i want to ask them if its 4+ as on 31st march who is going to fill the nursery seats in various schools...

One thing i would like your help is that if RTE is to applied then it has to be done on an all India basis, however schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have already closed their admission process in Sep and Oct 2010. What is the disconnect ?

My son would be of 3 years in Dec'10. I want to put him into DPS, Sushant Lok (where my elder daughter is going). But as per school's criteria he is not eligible for Nursey admission moreover they have shifted the pre-nursery classes to some other place. They are not providing transportation in our area (for pre nursery). I want to keep both the kids together. What should I do? ----Preeti

Yes, he is in Pre-Nur. in Mother's pride. I want to put him into Nursey class. But as per schools criteria he is not eligible for Nursey (following Sept. criteria, should be of 3 in or before 30th Sept.). My concern is why different schools are folllowing different age criteria (Spet. and March). It should be same in all schools.

The ideal age should be 4+ as the child will be bit more equipped by that time for the grind ahead. Let them take it easy for a year more!

and its my request to moderator to change the topic to 3 yrs + or 4 yrs + on 30th sep 2011..4+ as on 31st march is simply illogical...most of the kids turning 4+ as on 31st march 2011 have already been admitted in 2010-11 session itself...

Why people are deviating from the crucial aspect of admission procedure?
Why so much of debate on 3+ or 4+?
My son was admitted to formal school when he was 3+ on March.
Believe me, children of the same age group are doing well in schools.
I fail to understand, why do parents want to waste their ward's one year?
