ALUMNI POINTS: If majority disagree with ALUMNI points as being discretionary, let it be clubbed with Management Quota. If schools want to honour their distinguished alumnis by providing their kids admission, let it be from their management quota. This would also put a cap on number on alumni admissions.

CENTRALISED SYSTEM: Such a system looks good and may in fact be quite beneficial. However, such a system may take years to implement. If it happens to be implemented by govt bodies, it may take generations to take shape. The point: let such grand idea take shape slowly but lets also have immediate, less grand solution implemented.

KIDS ASSESSMENT: Large weightage should be given for such points so that talented kids get best education. It should be left to experts to devise methodologies to assess kids at such tender age. The assessment should be transparent. As is often the case, kids are moody at such age, kids should be given three chances of assessment and best of three may be picked as their score.
However, if child experts assert that such kids should not be assessed in anyway then let admission be two step process.
In first step for admission into nursery, lets give large weightage to distance points. Let kids enjoy their primary days (till class 5th) in the vicinity of their homes. This would reduce travel time and hence unnecessary school transportation causing traffic jams.

In second step, when kids are ready for evaluation after completing their 5th, lets evaluate them for admission into class 6th. Now there should be large weightage to kid's assessment and abilities to ensure bright kids get the best schools. Basically we are delaying admission process based on kids evaluation.

If we agree to evaluation based admission in 6th, we still have 5-6 years to analyse and make the point system more matured. This would also mitigate the damage done to current parents who are being experienced with new point system (and last minute changes). Current point system resulting in 80-90% girls in class does not seem healthy even for those who did get admission. If we let it continue, the repurcussions may be visible later on. We have chance to re-create healthy class structure 5 years from now.
And it also gives hopes to those sufferred due to current immature point system.


SCHOLARSHIPS: Not related to admission process but to education system, to promote Ranchos, good amount of scholarships should be given to bright deserving students.
