Rupa, can you please suggest positives & negatives  of FAS as a parent...

As far as I know FAS  doesn't follow lottery system.. my daughter is studying in nursery...

I am neither against nor in favor of admission procedure at all.

Well let me give another try - I am sure that about 70% of the forms does have similar competitive answers to the questions so how would anyone select about 10% forms from those forms.

Nitin...i completely agree & this is what i was mentioning...

Vishal, looking at the FAS process, it doesn't appears to be based on lottery. If they have to go for lottery then there is no need to initial lengthy form filling and interaction with parents. they can directly go for lottery.

Sachin...that is true...but my point was that if FAS had to take kids through lottery then they could have directly post a list of selected kids.

Nitin, i was not commenting on sachin...but some of the parents including me were confused with the selection procedure of FAS ....& few suggested that it is on lottery basis...

Comment by Sachin Arora on September 27, 2013 at 10:36am

@Vishal: that is becoz ppl like us fill up many school forms for one kid and who will finally be going to join just one of them then what about the rest of the selection.. that has to be given to some other kid. School never shortlist only as many forms as they have seats but the use to select around 7-10 times the forms than they have seats. It does happens that schools even calls up second list of selected candidates if the first shortlisting does not fulfill the seats.

@vishal  sachin arora is only suggesting the lottery system should be adopted by the all schools instead of current practice of interaction with kids and parents. In this system all will get fair chance and admission will purely on luck.
