Hello Sakshi Ma'am / Moderator,
I got the birth certifcate of my child (immediately after her birth) with her nick name handwritten on it. We changed her name later on. Now, I have her Aadhar card with her actual name and that is the name we want for her school. I dont know how do we go about it in this situation. Also she was born in gurgaon, but we reside in vikaspuri, delhi, so her bc has gurgaon address and we will be applying with vikaspuri address. Will schools consider this situation or we will have to get a new birth certicate with her actual name.
I have checked with them and changing of name is a complex and lengthy procedure (involving filing of civil suit).
please please please help
regards

In Birth certificate only correction of spellings can be done. Or else you have to get a gazette notification for change of name. It's better consult a lawyer.
schools will not consider aadhar card. all of them want birth certificate. you have to get the name changed. without name BC would have been a better option rather than having nick name. moreover since it is of haryana so procedure of changing can be different from d procedure of changing in Delhi.as far as I know newspaper notification plus SDM affidavit is required.
try if u can get it made again. Don't know if it is possible.
