Sonika i stay in Ramesh nagar and what i had found out is we have only 2 schools

1.Springdales, kirti nagar

2.New Era, mayapuri

Mount st.mary's is 8km from my place but would may be within 6kms from ur place, also Bal Bharti pitampura is 7.5km from my place...really less options left now..but i will still fill forms in all gud schools be it 6kms or 10kms..

Hi

I have a 3+ daughter and we stay in janak puri. Can someone tell me which all schools come within the 6km range from janak puri and is there a point in filling application forms for schools that are located beyond that range.

Thanks

Poorti

I checked the website of the school and couldn't find any such information. Can you please share the link.

I agree we have to trust the process. Schools are known to bend the rules.

Imagine 1 school with 100 seats and gets 500 applications. 50 are alumni, sibling/transfer cases + distance within 6 Km. they go straight through.

Remaining 50 seats now are up for grabs for 450 people (everyone only has 70 neighborhood points). Now a lottery needs to take place.  student residing 0Km from school has equal chance as a student residing 6 Km away. Both may get into schools nearer to other's house. Both now travel 6  KM to school.

Anyway ,  school transfer is not applicable for nursery (this is child's first school). Parents transfer might apply. Then, how long ago must one have relocated ? What about international transfers ? Someone relocating from abroad back to India is eligible for these points ?

@Raman. I think the purpose of the change in guidelines was this only that all should be getting equality within 6 km distance. Twisting.. is not just twisting it is a legal crime now and observers will be appointed by government to observe the draw process(again this is a scrutiny and we are bound to trust).  Transfer is transferring from some other state this may require the transfer certificates and all from previous schools/city.

Is the distance calculation straight line distance or actual road travel distance? How does a school validate this ?

Just saw the nursery guidelines.1. Distance 0-6 KM - 70 points . This should have been graded. Now almost all applicants will end up getting same points (70 or zero if sibling/Tfr/alumni are N.A). This would lead to a lottery (scope for schools to twist the results)

2. Transfer case - What does this mean ? Transfer from where ? How long ago ?
