ecific point about it.
I checked board results and found these pretty average. At level of DPS45, Salwan and SNS, lower than DAV14 and way lower than LVIS and obviously Heritage/TSRS)
I checked its website and facebook page to see how it performs in extra curricular activities and sports (inter school competitions) but not a lot of achievements. DPS45 fairs little better. I didn't find its flagship programs like MI-ME really great.
Speeches from its management people(who are real estate developers) were unimpressive. I attended its webinar which I felt a little fake. Only good thing was cultural performance in its annual days which was exceptionally good at par with reality shows on national channels (if it matters for some).
Can you please provide any specific input from your experience. I will be grateful if Payal (or Dr Juhi or anyone else) can share their thoughts as well as Suncity was in your list of schools last year so you must have gathered some feedback.
I have been offered admission here. My applications for Heritage/TSRS/SNS, which were higher in order in my list, didn't get selected. DPS45 results are on 18th and I need to block seat here by coming Tuesday.
TIA…
ts plights in the present nursery admission process ( 2011- 2012) and to demand stringent action against erring schools.
The parents want strict actions by the government against on complaints filed with DOE against schools for not following the government guidelines. Some of them include:
Salwan Montessori allocated points for achievements/profession of parents(which amounts to be screening of parents that is banned under RTE.)
Modern School Humayun Road and Vasant Vihar branch both did not disclose any point system for nursery admissions.
Vivek Summit/ Kidsway did not follow a transparent admission process
Bal Bharti (Rohini & Dwarka) had a non transparent draw of lots.
Laxman Public School and many others conducted draw of lots in the absence of parents (in case of LPS candidates for lottery were more than 1000)
K R Mangalam giving admissions to few parents with 70 points but others with 70 were not admitted (.Moreover on the parents on confronting the school authorities were told that it is a school management decision and they have to abide by it.)
Indian school at Sadiq Nagar manipulated transfer points
Many schools including the above have not published the breakup of allocated points for the applications received.
Summerfields, K R Mangalam, Vivekanand and many other schools are giving admissions on first come first- come-first-serve basis·
• Tagore International school has mentioned on its website that FEE ONCE PAID WILL NOT BE REFUNDED(Which is totally against DOE guidelines) and many other schools are doing the same, taking fee in cash and not giving the receipt. Doe should issue new circular for fee refund policy again immediately (Schools are giving excuses that there is no clarity/notification on fee refund policy this year)
Further the parents want to propose a Centralised Point System with centralized admission process with following salient features:
1. There should be one common form which should be filled by all parents who are seeking admissions for their kids, online/offline. The form should have all the required details and a few preferred schools.
2. It should be submitted to the DOE or the any concerned impartial authority.
3. Based on the details given by parents, the authorities should assign schools to each child (each child should be given a choice of 4-5 schools to choose from).
4. After this list is out, the parents should choose any one school and submit the same.
5. Once the list is final, the schools should be sent the list of the students who have been admitted in their school.
6 Scrap Alumni Points( Against RTE as alumni is educated till 12th so profiling against uneducated under RTE )
7 Transparency etc
8 .Strict action against all (schools which flout guidelines)
9. There should be a uniformity from sale of prospects to declaration of selected
candidates.
10. Upper Limit of fees should by schools to be fixed.
11. Any guidelines should be analysed before implementation.
12. No child should be left out without admission.

ed on the order passed by LG Najeeb Jung. The Forum for the Promotion of Quality Education, with 19 Delhi schools as members including Vasant Valley and Salwan Public School, issued a statement proposing "co-operation between government and the private schools," on Thursday. "The order...usurps the autonomy of private unaided schools," says the statement, "Till the recommendations of the Ganguly Commission were enforced in 2007, these schools had complete autonomy in the process of admission." "In truth," it further says, "Private schools are engaged in providing high quality educational inputs to the future citizens of the country in furtherance and support of the government's aim of 100% literacy. It is strange that while these schools and the people who run them are considered good enough to be entrusted with young children in their formative years, they are not considered responsible enough to conduct admissions." Meanwhile, several schools have started posting the new guidelines on their websites, and the department's helpline for nursery admissions will by up by JAN 13 2014. The admissions, as per the existing schedule, will begin on January 15.
Anxious and testing time for parents
twisha.hans twisha.hans@thestatesman.net New Delhi, 8 Jan The admission season looks anxious and testing time for parents as the Delhi High Court on Wednesday stayed a DoE's order for reserving 20 percent seats in St Columbia's school for students belonging to the economically weaker sections, now as predictably parents are bothered about the delay in the process of nursery admission of their wards as the private schools are also in the same league of receiving stay on their plea for new rules in LG guidelines. The private schools, however, moved court on 3 January against the new guidelines issued by the Lieutenant Governor, Mr Najeeb Jung, which asked for the weightage to area kids and abolition of 20 per cent management quota in all the private schools. Parents are now worried about if the private schools might get stay on their plea then it will twist a tricky situation on their leave applications. "Me and my husband are working. We have applied for leave since 15th of this month as the admission commences from that day but now as the schools have moved the court for stay, we are worried that the process might get delayed by a week or two," said Nehai Tyagi, a resident of Tilak Nagar. Parents are also expressing uncertainties during the admission procedure as they believe that they would not get admission effortlessly and many of them would apply for as many schools as possible. "Since, there will be shortage of leaves if the order comes and with that it is very difficult to cover all the schools together at one go or in the short period of time possible," said a parent. On the other hand, RC Jain, who is president of Delhi State Public Schools Management Association for Unaided Recognised Private Schools, states that the petition was made against the diminishing autonomy of private schools under the new guidelines. He said, "We yearn for our independence and autonomy. The government's latest guidelines are hostile towards self-sufficiency of private, non-aided and recognised schools. We contribute towards 40 percent of city's education but we don't have any right to reserve a seat for the ward of our kin's child." While expressing the positive decision from the court, he said, "We are optimistic about the petition filed by us and if the action is to be taken, it should be taken against the misuse of management quota but it shouldn't be scratched off." Meanwhile, Sumit Vohra, who founder of admissionnursery.com, said, "Many parents feel it's a big setback and as private unaided are moving to court against new admission guidelines, now they are anxious about case against new guidelines and dissolution of management quota is not stayed." Although, amidst all chaos, parents hope for unsurpassed order from the court, "I am applying for all the private schools including DPS, Cambridge and Sardar Patel so I hope that the decision should be sensible enough in terms of accommodating the parents grievances also," said Imam Ghani, a resident of south Delhi.
