Reason being that communication skills will be too weak if you start your kid in a Govct School. So better admit your kid in a good pvt school till class 5 then you may shift your kid to KV as teachings are good in comparison to many tier 2 schools. 2. My bhanji was studying in a private school in Mayur Vihar phase 3. Teaching standards was so low that physics teacher was sis in law of the head of the institution and She was taking daily classes from a good teacher in the physics topics which was to be delivered next day and then c used to come to deliver the lecture. She was very poor in subject knowledge as well as in demonstration. 3. My friends daughter was admitted in a pvt school last year. One day when the kid came back from her school, my friend checked the copies of various subjects taught in the school. There were many blunder mistakes done by the teacher. Not by a single teacher but by almost all teacher like... Bird was spelt as Brid. The teacher had checked and given her star rating. Haahaahaa. There were also some mistakes in addition and subtraction of various number but teacher had checked and awarded her outstanding marks... Keeping in view of above experience, this is to express my view that there are good schools in pvt as well govt sectors in the similar way there are bad schools in both sectors. So there should not be argument for superiority. Me myself is a product of Govt school and have qualified CA, CS, ICWA and MBA. Me even got rank in CWA on pan india basis. cleared all the cs exams without any failure. so both are good. Comment on: Blog Post 'Nursery Admissions in Delhi - Exclusive 2015-2016 Updates': ons in the Capital a “fiercely contested” battle between the parents for just a few “sought-after schools.” Opposing a petition filed by a government officer seeking admission of his ward under the inter-state transfer (IST) category, the Directorate of Education (DoE) claimed that no child in Delhi could be deprived of education for lack of schooling facilities here. It said the Capital had 1,577 schools including 1,006 government and 216 government aided institutions. In addition there are 2,800 primary muncipal and New Delhi Municipal Council schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas. However, it said, nursery admissions have become controversial with parents wanting to send their children to a few selected schools. “It’s pertinent to mention that in Delhi the admissions in nursery class are fiercely contested by the parents for few sought-after schools only. It’s earnestly submitted that everyone wants admission in few sought-after schools of Delhi and the same is not possible for those schools to do,” the DoE told the SC. The department’s response came on a petition filed by a parent who wanted his child to be admitted to DPS Vasant Vihar. The father claimed that as a result of SC’s May 7 order, giving relief to only those inter-state transfer candidates whose parents had challenged the Delhi Government notification rendering this category ineligible from availing the benefits of extra five points, his child had lost his seat and had nowhere to go. The DoE further opposed the petition on the ground it wasn’t appropriate to admit students after the start of a fresh academic session. It even reiterated its earlier stand that the IST category had been misused. Topic: No upper-age limit for nursery admissions ~ Times of India 28 DEC: round of admissions with a total reversal of the decision taken by the Delhi School Education Advisory Board on December 19. Following a flurry of representations, the board met again on Thursday to remove the upper age limit for nursery (which had been fixed at three-years-11-months-30-days), KG (four-years-11-months-30-days) and Class I (five-years-11-months-30 days). But the matter will not rest completely. According to a statement, the Education Department will form a committee to look into the "issue of age" for academic year 2014-2015. "There were representations received to increase Minimum Age of Nursery Admissions on account of fixing uniform upper age limit for Nursery Admissions....Since the admission cycle is to start in a few days, Minister of Education, Prof. Kiran Walia said we cannot tinker with the age related guidelines at this late stage as it would lead to lot of confusion," says the statement. "We were asking for an upper age limit because there was a lot of confusion among parents about which class their kids are eligible for. Moreover, some schools made age an admission criterion with points allotted for it. But we wanted an age bracket of at least two years which is what the Kendriya Vidyalayas have," says Sumit Vohra, founder, admissionsnursery.com, who had demanded a widening of age-bracket. Social Jurist, Khagesh Jha also points out that "status quo" doesn't imply "whatever the schools were doing but what the law prescribes." "The 2007 order fixes minimum age for pre-school, pre-primary and Class I but also says, "there is no bar to children older than the ages specified in this clause being given admission to these classes," says Jha. Meanwhile, schools have begun posting their point systems on their websites and categories that had parents perturbed last year have appeared again. There are points for vegetarians (5), non-smokers (5) - "How will you verify the claims?" asks Vohra -- and teetotalers (5) at Mahavir Senior Model School (Sangam Park Extn, G T Karnal Road); Cambridge Primary School (News Friends' Colony has points allocated for "Cultural Linguistic integration and parents with inter-cultural background" (10). On a positive note, the second school has 12 points for "compassionate grounds" which also includes physically disabled parents. Socially active parents stand a better chance in some schools.
