3 years before class 1 had made me think earlier. But for now I'm going with Santa Maria (Vasant Kunj) only. Free progress is a different concept & since my son was already in Auro School Navakriti - we are aware of its basic aspects. One important thing to keep in mind is, not to compare a child studying in a free progress school with any other child studying in a regular school. I personally feel that "free progress" as a concept of education, might only get popular in the future.
Though I am taking a risk - but a calculated one at that - considering the senior school - St. Marys' name atleast features in surveys / rankings. Anyways, if need be, can always try in another school next year, thought chances are even slimmer with even fewer seats in KG.
Coming to Apeejay Saket and Santa Maria - I have compared the two in a few surveys / ranking and St. Mary's, just edges ahead. Although Apeejay "Sheikh Sarai" has a slightly better rating.
By the way do you have any idea about the fees - have given the draft for Rs 20,000 and checked the fees for St. Mary's (around Rs 5000 per month) on their website, but not clear about Santa Maria's monthly / quarterly / annual fees.
Congrats Mr.Jasmeet! Accept a strong foundation in needed for a child in early learning stage. I think the other school is Mirambika Free Progress school. In these schools children find their own space and progress which is wholly a child centered approach,
Hi J
Thank you Jasmeet for elaborating the concepts of Free progress school. My daughter has also got admission in Santa maria and their monthly fee is 6000/- including transport (as receptionist lady told this). I am happy that my kid have got admission in Santa Maria. No luck with other schools :(
I did this three years back and I just submitted an application to the school. They told me when to come back for the draft and i got it then. Though they deducted some money that time.
Best that you call up the school and check for the procedure
