School helper held for molesting girl

NEW DELHI: A 25-year-old man, who worked as a helper in Presidium School in Dwarka Sector 16-B, was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly molesting a five-year-old girl studying in the same school.

Kamlesh allegedly molested the victim on several occasions when she would go to the bathroom, said police. The victim's family protested against the school authorities after Kamlesh's dismissal was delayed by a day and he was later released on bail on Thursday.

According to the family, the child on Tuesday complained she was repeatedly being molested by a cleaner. Shocked, her parents complained to the school and once the child identified the accused, he was asked to leave. "It takes some time for processing the papers. So technically, Kamlesh was removed on Wednesday. Men are not allowed to enter girls bathrooms in our school,'' explained Sarita Syal, the school PRO.

The parents, who were unable for comment, pressed molestation charges against the accused in Dwarka (north) police station on Wednesday after which Kamlesh was arrested. The girl's parents protested after Kamlesh got bail on Thursday. A senior police officer explained, "It is a bailable offence. Even if the parents agitate against the release there is nothing we can do.''

The victim is a resident of Dwarka Sector 11. Kamlesh stays in Nangloi in west
Delhi and is unmarried, said police. He had reportedly worked in the school for two and a half years.

i think all members should tell us wat to do ?
THANKS DEEPANJALIJI

I WOULD REQUEST EVERYONE TO GIVE SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT NIDHI ..SURUCHI,,ANJU HAVE ASKED !!
This is disgusting...maybe we can have a known clinical psychologist or a counsellor to advise on steps that parents can take to educate the child on this issue. This is horrendous and the culprit should be taken to task. Kids this age are so tender and vulnerable...its a terrifyng and shocking incident for any parent.
hi
really shocked to hear that... Pathetic, we have not come over the incident of last week were driver was molesting 3 kids and a new incident came up. More pathetic is that we are not doing anything. in our country law is full of loopholes. such inhuman barbaric acts are bailable. we must protest so that change/ amendment can be made in IPC. he should be punished.
Action should be against school...its there duty to provide security, when they are not able to do that they should be punished for that...but again Law is silent on this. we must learn from west how specific , clear and strict rules they follow and adopt that.
any ways...
regarding how to teach your children i think it always good to be vigilant, talk to them, share and make a habit in them that whetever in school they do when they came home back they share with you. this can be inculcate by talking to them and asking them in different ways questing about school. initial they may not respond very well but when you will regularly do that child will start responding and enjoy telling you.
one more point........pls keep checking your child in there behaviour and physically for any marks.but not in a way that child feel uncomfortable, just be vigilant. children are very sensitive they catch fast and immediately try them..... so observe if any thing which he or she was not doing previously all of a sudden done by the child.
always have very interactive relation with the child. that good in both ways 1st you will have good bond with them and they will become more expressive.
this is really shocking.....i am just n't able to understand what precautions should we take & how do we make our small kids understand about all this....
why schools are not learning lessons if it happens with preidium owners daughter then i will like to seewhat step she takes
She has only two sons so she is not worried , I guess....
but even boys are not safe today...
They are not lucky enough to have a daughter, they have just two sons.
sudha gupta talks high about parenting etc....if this is franchisee..school's license should be cancelled..........moreover there should be such punishment for this man, which should be lesson for others...............
I don't think this school is a franchise. I agree with Deepa. The school should concentrate on the children rather than Positive Parenting seminars and various other marketing gimmicks.
Yes Deepanjaliji you are right its core school
