sibling versus first child criteria

hi

I have noticed that most of the schools are giving points for sibling studying in the same school. I fail to understand that why they do not have 'first born child' criteria as an alternate to 'sibling' criteria. Parents who are looking for nursery admission for their first born child are at disadvantage. Any insights on this?

It's school specific. First preference should be given to sibling since a parent will face great difficulties to send children in 2 different schools.
