I too agree the age for kids to go to regular school should be 4+ yrs
so you are interested in sending your kid to playschools for 4 years..and from where are you getting these facts??? it is totally false that in europe schooling starts from 6-7 years....
ought to be 4+
Nursery age criteria should be 4+. This has to be considered.
3 years is too young for the children to cope up with the school curriculum and just creates undue pressure on both the kids & parents. I believe 4+ is the right age for the kids to enter school as not only they are more settled but their motor skills etc have also been developed to suit the need of the school. With the teacher student ratio of 45:1 is almost all school the teachers do not have the time to pay individual attention to each & every kid so if your child is not the very intelligent one, god save your life as the school and teacher would make your life miserable by demotivating you all the time. A lot is expected from the parents all the time but i do not see that kind of committment coming from the teachers ans school to nurture the kids. So its best that they enter school at the age when they can cope up with the pressure of performing all the time.
It should be 4+.
i feel the admission should be done at 3 + but then the funda of sending the kids to play school at an ealry age of 1.5 yrs - 2 yrs should be finished off. thr is a kind of competition now a days among parents basically as to which play school thr kids are going. the kids can be sent to school at 3 but then 1 year should b thr play time and formal studiescan start from when they r 4.
I strongly believe that it should be 4+ and rather I think the formal schooling should start from class 1. Let them be in a friendly and natural envoirnment of play school for Nursrey and KG class. Provided the as the time passes in the Play school it gets more constructive to prepare the kid for te 1st standard in formal school. It looks criminal for such young kids getting into such strict schedule of formal schools. Once the studies start, it starts for good 16 years, whats the harm giving them little more time to be prepared for the cruel world!
Earlier also my views got published through Mr. Vohra's efforts regarding age criteria in an article in HT dated 22 Feb 2010. If the age bracket goes up, then there is a need to change the age critera for students appearing for the national level competitive examinations. I also agree with other parents on the issue of increasing level of stress on tiny tots in nursery class. Under the present circumstances, we can go ahead with the existing age criteria till a final decision is taken by the govt. on the same.
i think it should be 3 yrs because we both are working and we think that our child is more safe in school other than any where. our parents are not with us so i dnt want my kid to go to playschool for one more year because 2 yrs studying in play school is of no use...nursery admission should be 3 yrs ......
I think 4+ as on 31st March is the right age for the child to get into a school routine. Whatever the decision would be taken should last, I mean it shouldn't change every year which results in great confusion for the parents.
The age criteria should be 4years.
